Riding jacket

I am looking for a summer riding jacket in either mesh, textile, or similar in size Large. Here's an example of something I am looking to buy...

Evidently the one I bought is no longer available as I can't find it. Basically a kevlar mesh, with a water proof liner if you want. I have never used the liner. Looks a lot like this one: https://smile.amazon.com/Pilot-Direc...orcycle+jacket

Make hot weather riding so much nicer.

PHOENIX 5.0 ? Joe Rocket

I have this one. While not the best, it is a pretty well built jacket, heavy duty zippers and fits pretty true to size. Haven't had to test the armor but seems to be sturdy and in the right places. Lots of air flow too.

That's the same one I have, except mine's sand color. Good air flow for the summer in the south.

I have my eye on a Joe Rocket Alter Ego 3.0 three in one jacket. Comes in five colours blue, red, black, grey and hi vis green. Retail in the US is $259 but someone always has a discount going and right now Bike Bandit have it for $233.

Mac, that's a sweet jacket and great deal. Believe it or not I got super lucky today and found a guy on Craigslist selling the jacket from my initial post and he let it go for $50 never worn. Apparently he got the jacket before the bike but never ended up buying a motorcycle.

Last year a friend let me try his armored Harley mesh jacket, and it was quite nice. Since then I've been looking for something for Summer, as I have an armored jacket/pants combo with heated liners for Winter, and quite honestly today's self-absorbed drivers are making me nervous. (To the point I might even wear a helmet.)

Research led me to the Joe Rocket Phoenix 5.0, and Bako's accident posts led to to use Advanced Search > Jacket, which is how I found this and tons of other threads.

While the Phoenix 5.0 is great, I'm also worried about my hips in a slide, which led me to the Phonix Ion that seems slightly longer, has a 2-stage warterproof liner system, and also comes in white. I'd really like the Ion Summit with extended 3/4 length cut, but it only comes in black, and that's not great in the Summer sun.

Add to this the Phoenix Ion Pant comes in black or silver, and I'm looking a little gay, which is not an image I'm going for. Silver/Silver maybe, but "black with silver pants" is kind of Elvis-ish, or Liberace...and we're not trying to focus on potential pianist possibilities...

Note the Ion jacket comes in both White and Silver, so White jacket w/Silver pants, or uniformly Silver...?

Pricing seems reasonable, quality seems good, would prefer a lighter color. The Klim Apex Air Hi-Viz Jacket doesn't offer water resistance, and is about twice the price of the Summit, so I could have an Ion series jacket and pants for the same price.

Thoughts on this?
