    I don't believe you can check it, I have never heard of anyone checking it as you should not run the engine with the reg/rect unplugged, the resistance (0.5) is not what i would call out of spec (.1 ohm is very tiny) and could just be in your meter, usually you will get a dead short or open, the way to test it is to hook up to you battery, should have min 12.4 VDC, start the bike voltage should drop to 10-11 VDC, after approx 20 sec, the voltage should stat increasing to 14.5 VDC or so, if it continues to go up, shut the bike off, going over 15 will cook the battery. The stator almost never, very infrequently go bad, usually the reg/rect, burns up, many time the back side will be burnt
