I'm seriouly considering doing the mod which was written on a thread by tony. I searched the past threads and found it....but the actual write up on the mod is missing from the thread. Anyone know why that is and where I can find it (if it's still on the forum somewhere)? Thanks

Possibly, because the write up didn't jive with what was being said... The new hole to drop the shock mount position was maybe 1/8" - 1/4" lower and he was claming a 1 1/2" drop.

Anyone have any more experience or feedback on that article? I had printed it and took it to the cycle shop doing my winter work and they talked me out of it. Said drilling the extra hole would make the mount so weak they wouldn't do it. Well our Cleveland roads aren't exactly smooth so it would have taken an extra beatin.

It's interesting that apparently at least one other guy tried it and seemed to be happy with the results. On the other hand many questioned the method. I guess the true value of the forum comes to light with many knowledgeable folks sharing information. I think I'll pass on that mod for now. Thanks again.

I tried it too, kinda

I designed a bolt-on mount that relocated the bottom of the shock. With my relocation kit the shock was moved back toward the tire & down toward the ground & it did lower the back of PREDATOR’s bike. This is a quick & simple bolt on adapter with no drilling or grinding involved.

This item has been removed from PREDATOR’s bike & is sitting on my desk. However, for several reasons, this is not a product that we will be manufacturing.

Sounds like a fantastic little gadget. Must've just screwed up the ride too much or you had safety concerns with the bottom of the remounted shock?
