I'm not real sure where to place this thread, but here seems the most logical place. Has anyone ever tried to put an 1800VTX motor into a Fury frame?

I'm looking for another project and I'm fond of Honda bikes anyway.

Im not 100% on this but i believe the fury's frame gave Honda a lot of problems when considering the 1800 and thats why they went with the 1300. The 1300 fit much better and looked a ton better is what i have heard from a few honda buddies i know.

Also the radiator would have to be much larger to properly cool the motor and it would have changed the sleakness of the bike and they didnt want that.

I heard that they where suppose to come out with it this year but when I spoke to someone at the dealership they said that Honda was moving away from the 1800 series and just going with the 1300. I have to believe this some what since they came out with the Sabre, Interstate, and Stateline but no new 1800 line as of yet.

Thanks for the replys. I thought it hadn't been done yet. I guess I'll give it a try, I mean, it's only metal. Streching a frame is easy. I guess I'm on the lookout for a wrecked 1800VTX and a wrecked Fury.

i think its a good idea.i do a lot of modding so let me know how its going.

seems like it would be a lot of work, I don't know much about bikes, but I would think you would have to do a lot of modifications to get that to fit and then probably have to work on the suspension to handle the extra weight and would definitely need a bigger gas tank. I would definitely like to see how that turns out and see if it even looks like a Fury after you was done with it. I wonder if you could call an insurance company like Progressive and see if they have a wrecked Fury or 1800 they would sell cheap, I figure they would want to make some money off of it.

You are opening a hole, big, big can of worms, get your engine and tranny and have a frame built to your specs around it.

Yea, I know it would be alot of work, buy hey, it's only metal. Cut here, stretch there, It will be a fun project. I like a challenge.
