I rode over three hundred miles today, and what a blast. from hainesville Il. to Starved Rock State Park, in Utica, Il. Took side roads there, nice cruise. Stopped for gas, etc. many different kinds of bikes were along for the ride, Harleys, sport bikes, Yamaha cruisers. Overall, a nice ride.

Now I will say it, I didn't take the Fury, I took my VTX 1300 R.
I'm glad I chose to ride the X today, as we came home on the highway, and that generally travels at 80 plus miles an hour. I don't have a windshield and I choose not to wear a helmet. I have Ultimate seats on the X so that was all good, but you really get beat up at 80 miles an hour if you're naked, so to speak.
I know if I had chose to ride the Fury, my ass probably would still be out on that highway somewhere.
I really love my Fury, I commute with it every day but to Tour on it, or ride on unknown roads, no way.
Tomorrow, I will be happy, hopping on the Fury, and riding 12 miles to work, and looking forward to 12 miles back home.
Ride safe, all!

Okay, you guys are talking me into a longer trip, but I am a big guy. 6'4", 230 lbs., 36" inseam. I could use the forward controls a little more forward, as I have to keep reminding myself to keep my knees in, otherwise I feel like a Daddy Longlegs Spider.
However, I wiil try to run a couple hundered miles, and see what happens.
