Any one else reach the mile stone yet?

$300 seems high. My service contract is a 3 year scheduled maintenance deal. Covers parts and labor also is transferable to a new bike if I trade. I was quoted $225 by the next closest Honda dealer for the 600 service. By tthe time i get to 12000 the plan will have paid for it self.

Digging more into the charge, it is for a full valve check. Which means remove tank, head covers and physically check each valve with feeler gauge. and oil change. Dealer is a little more. At least my guy I will know he will do it, I've read on the VTX sites some mechanics just listen to the valves and say they are ok.

Just a guesstimate.... how long should it take a skilled mechanic to do properly?

I'm hoping that I can set the valves without removing the tank. There should be plenty of room to work on the valves with the skinny tank left right where it is.. we'll see in a few weeks !

Well, I dropped my bike off today. $226 for valve adjustment and oil change. Took it in with 850 miles on her.
