Gratz on the 8,000 mark, bummer on the tire though (reminds me that I need an new tire soon... :( )! My tins are at the painter right now and the skeleton is in my garage... thinking of taking off the rims and chroming the front, sending the rear to get it widened... guess I'll see where my budget lies at...

I see that a few of you are on or about to get a new rear tire, so you have been doing some riding. My question is, have you been caught in the rain and how did the stock tire do for you in wet conditions. I was coming home from a bike night last week and I hit a spot in the road that stays wet unless were in a drought. The bike felt like it just wanted to wash out from under me. I wasn't going fast or hard on the throttle, but it was just before entering a turn. It was almost like being on ice.

Same... there's not much grip on that stock rear tire as it is... you have to know what you're doing a little bit in the rain, otherwise don't ride on that stock tire is what I would suggest. Don't like the stock tire in wet conditions at all... Also, don't expect to stop any time soon in an emergency condition with that stock tire on, but guess that is more of a condition of weight vs. water vs. hydroplaning...

First time I did a random normal stop in rain, going down a hill... pretty much didn't stop... had to quickly start downshifting... stopped about 5 feet from intersection (big hill).

Just keep the bike a little loose underneath you and it will help your confidence when riding in the rain.

ME TOO!

Rode home 13 miles in massive storm on Easter, it was my fault for wanting to ride the Fury.
Soaked I was, as if I dove in the lake fully clothed!
Drops so bigs they made my whole face numb! The bike handled well in a monsoon but it was sketchie' at best! I down shifted more than braked and KEPT FAR BACK FROM OTHER CARS!
Water filled my nice rear led signal, I forgot that damn round washer for the cords, it does have a purpose, hold out all the water. My baby was covered in MUCK! I wanted to puke, I had never been in such a down pour in 20 years of riding! mY 2010 was forever unclean! Just joking!!!
Thank God I never changed to a Barons intake, or any other with the straight intake, I would have been done!

INTERESTED in how the Meztler does and rides. I have 2000 miles now on stock tires.
Funny how a tire maker, maybe Brigdestone, is running ads how BETTER TIRES CUT BRAKE DISTANCES, with abs this could always help.
