Greetings,
I have enclosed the wiring directions for a replacement horn, mine died :p when I moved it after installing the forward controls.
Could I trouble someone to put this into non-mechanically inclined English?
I have the two wires from the old horn -- but I really don't want to do the trial and error method and create a bigger problem by shorting something out.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated !! If you are around LA I owe you a few beers... :D
Thanks
T

LOUD horns !!!

Tasmin, I would recommend fitting two standard AMERICAN automotive horns and a relay to handle the additional current as shown in your diagram. Tony can show you how to hook them up but basically your 2 existing wires go on the two empty pins of the relay in your diagram .

On many of my past rides I have installed a pair of standard aftermarket AMERICAN car horns (none of this meep-meep nonsense). Since I'm not a big fan of thunder loud exhaust (although I do enjoy hearing them ride by the house every day - I'm on a major biker cruise route) I really get a kick out of honking at inattentive drivers and watching them panic 'cause they clearly still don't see me and wonder where the big f..n' truck is that's bearing down on them ! Even so, with loud exhaust you are often not on the throttle when you are on the horn .

I like that idea - "big f..n' truck" loud!
The horn that I purchased is supposed to exceed 120 db. It's loud but I don't think it will be as noticeable as "big f..n' truck" loud ! lol
Ohh maybe the ones they use on trains? :D That would be loud. The only problem is I would need a side car to carry the needed hardware. lol
A big thank you to "Yoda." :D
