There's a jacket and vest out that inflates if you are thrown off your bike has anyone ever used this jacket or know someone who does. There are some vids on youtube where they tested it.

I had a friend who was killed and yea he was wearing a helmet but broke his neck and something like this might of helped save his life.

The only real worry I would have is landing on your stomach area during the crash and having that c02 canister jabbed into your rib cage

I've heard of these before, They work by attaching a teather to your handlebars, and when it's pulled, the jacket inflates. The only major problem they are having is people forgetting to disconnect the teahter when they stop for gas! Would create a pretty embarassing situation if you ask me.
