I had my bike in the garage yesterday to install the blocking plates on the pair valves so while it was apart I thought I would pop of my spike air filter and install the demon air filter I've had sitting around for a little bit to see what it looked like. Although this air filter was not designed for the fury its unique shape and design originally caught my eye. This air filter appeared to me to have the same shape and design flow s the fuel tank on the fury and I couldn't help but wonder what it would look like mounted up against the tank of the fury so being the parts junkie that I am I just had to see for myself. The first photo shows my spike but you can see by the rest of the photos that the Demon filter might be a nice option choice for some. Its well made and I think pretty cool looking air filter that seems to carry the lines and flow of the bike well. I'm still partial to my spike but I just had to see for myself but anyways if anyone has a use for it and is interested in the Demon send me and you can have it for $100 if not it will be safely resting in my spare parts box with a few more option choices.

Dave, anything you have to add on the plates that Tony didn't cover?
Lester, I can't add anything to Tony's install instruction. His detailed instructions and photos were perfect and should act as a very useful and helpful tool for many people in the future. It was a very easy install and the only problem I had was trying to unplug that little stupid connector on the solenoid valve. My eyes must be going and I couldn't get that little clip that holds in on to release but the whole install took less than an hour and I spent most of the time playing around with the Demon air filter. I still can't believe the shape of this thing and how it matches the shape of the tank almost like it was designed for this bike. I think the only thing I would do to it if i was going to keep it on the bike would be to tip it up just a little bit more instead of the present horizontal mount position to keep it more in line and in flow to the lines of the bike.

Does the filter need any adaptors or extra covers?

Yes because this filter is not designed for this bike you will have to do some slight modifications to make it fit whatever intake adapter you may be using. It will bolt right up to the L&M intake but it needs a spacer of the intake approx. 1" to get it away from the right rear engine cover.

i use the accutronix adapter and no spacer needed. the filter clears the rear cover by 1/2 inch or so.

Thanks for the input! I was wondering about other intake adapters for this application and that's good to know for any one going this route. I would also imagine because of the design style and location fit of this filter it would nicely help to cover the rest of the unsightly plumbing and wiring in that area with the use of the accutronix adapter that would otherwise show with the use of another style filter..
