I just bought and installed a set of cobra swepts, but I think they would look really good in gloss black on my matte silver. Can they be painted and will they hold up with all the heat??

You should look for a good powdercoating shop and get them ceramic coated even if the paint stayed on it would probably not stay glossy,

I haven't seen high heat paint in any gloss, might not be looking that hard, but have only seen flat.

you can have them ceramic coated , they are offering that in lots of color these days
