Yea, I've been reading about it since I had my battery go out on me that day... and I think the gel batteries by biker's choice might be my next battery, but from what I have read, they only give a marginal difference in dead time performance over average batteries.

Maybe one of the Honda store guy's could chime in on this one or do we have a motorcycle battery guy on here? Would be nice...

Hmm, that's odd. How long would a bike battery be expected to last? I have had no troubles with mine since I bought the bike 10 months ago.
I started thinking about it since it seems that my starter is taking longer to turn over sometimes......and after having read about RSS's and other's experiences with it going dead relatively quickly.

Since YOU are an adventurous one Steve... Go turn on your bike, without starting the motor and go have a beer. Go back to it after you have finished the beer in a normal time frame, let's say 10 minutes and make sure to take pictures of yourself rolling the bike down the hill to jump start it... Has nothing to do with sit time, more of leaving the lights on time...:rolleyes::p

I guess that's why I haven't had any problems. I don't leave my lights on. ;) Why would anyone leave the lights on? Of course it eats up battery juice. :)

RSS, as I recall, uses his kickstand to cut off his engine.....I tried that myself, and walked away, then remembered my key was still in the bike....and when I went to get it, it was still in the on position.....I did this on a hill so the bike wouldn't roll......being as forgetful as I am, I sometimes pull up to a gas pump and leave the key in the ignition while I go and pay for gas.

Aha...Yes, I sometimes use my kickstand to do the same. However, as "cautious" as I am, I never forget to remove the key. It's a force of habit.

Of course this morning I couldn't find my truck key and started to panic. For some weird reason I had left it in the garage, on my workbench, in front of the beer fridge. Guess you can tell where my priorities were.

I want a remote for my keychain. You know, you lose your keys and push a button on the remote which causes your keychain to emit a high pitched squeel? ;)
ROTFLOL! You'd never put that thing down!

I've been tryiing to hold off on getting you started for 460's sake, but I can't wait until his operation, it's killing me!
