BEFORE YOU RIDE?

Heres another thread that could spark some conversation,,,Im a fanatic about riding a clean bike,, I usually spend a good 30 minutes wiping my bike down with the can of Honda polish before every ride. I have always done this with every bike, I always get raves about how clean my bike is and you could eat off of it. Just curious if anyone else out there does this or has another before ride Ritual. :D

I clean my bike almost everytime after a ride..at least do I clean the bug remains of the forks, to prevent pitting.
The only thing I do is check the gas!

Most of my rides have been longer the past couple of weeks, so I haven’t bothered doing anything. Washed it once last week and it’s full of bug guts now.
mine gets washed every couple of weeks. tried S100--works as advertised. but then, i don't like going to a bike dealer for it--too darned far; so, now i used Simple Green. still gotta rinse it and chamois it.
no cleaner just rinses off and dries spotless.
Simple Green is the stuff for cleaning.... before I ride? Make sure I get rid of a good "growler" :)

If it's gonna' be a long ride, this is good advice....unless you like using the nasty public restrooms.

As far as cleaning the bike, mine isn't too bad right now, but where I live, I can't go down the road for even just a few miles without getting splattered with bugs, so I don't wash mine very often and it's dirty more than it's clean.

Ditto....oh, btw 460, got any job openings for bike cleaning since you're delving out the big bucks to your secretary for it.....uhhhh, or are there other job requirements I might not be too interested in?????;)
Mine gets cleaned after every ride and dusted every few days too.

I use to call my husband's bike his Mistress because he cleans on it all the time...SO when I got my bike he asked if I wanted him to show me how to clean it? SILLY BOY, I told him "Deny you stroking two women? NEVER!" He took it well and still cleans and waxes both bikes :D

Same as "turtling" ???

:eek::eek::eek:
i just check that both brakes are working... figure that's a little more important than some dust and bugs. :D
I always keep the dust off the fury and use the honda polish on it, thats all I use. I have never washed my bike, just dust it, and use the polish.

Steveo, Glad you brought that up.... Here's a little trick I use when traveling. As a member of the Holiday Inn Express and other Motel Perk Programs, I just wheel in to one of these establishments when I'm on the road. They have clean facilities, fresh coffee (usually), a business office if I need to get online and it's cool inside. I can even shave if needed as they have little razors and shaving cream at most of the higher end facilities.
I usually check the weather forecast. I clean off the guts after I ride.

Hey, that sounds nice. How about a shower?

I check my tire pressure & fuel level before every ride. I wash my bike or have it washed after every rain storm or once a year.
