For those of you experiencing the spring hatch:
I noticed the Fury doesn't have a "bug guard" on the forks. My last Honda did. When the bugs smash on your forks the goo dries like glue and the exoskeletal body parts become pointy abrasive bits. They destroy fork seals. On ST's with guards it took a few years if forks were neglected. Probably less for the Fury. Something worth checking after rides and at fuel stops.

Good advice, Serge. Dried and hardened bug bodies WILL tear-up fork seals, requiring premature and costly replacement. It takes very little time and effort, following a ride, to wipe-down that portion of the forks that are swept by the wipers and seals (I use Windex). Also, a very thin film of silicone spray applied to the swept areas will preclude the bugs from sticking to begin with, without detracting from the looks of your machine. FWIW.

Cheers

Another thing to do that will protect your down tubes some is to give them a light waxing each time you get back from a ride... especially if you are on the coast riding alot. I had farely low mileage when my forks started to show some issues with the finish and I started to wax them a little which helped to slow down the issue... just a thought.

I was thinking the same thing. Not sure if it was you or not, but I remember someone posting about problems with the tubes “pitting”.

CB;

Will the wax build-up in the seals over time? Just wonderin'.

Bug guts have alot of acid in them. Does anyone have any problems with the radiator fins being full of bugs?
Just what is the PH of bug guts? Sounds like the basis for a government-funded study; I should apply for a grant! LOL.

Just ran out to the garage to check my radiator fins; whew!, dodged the bullet, err bugs, on that one!

Cheers

Honda Spray Cleaner and Polish works really good at removing the remains of bugs from all areas of the bike. I use it for that and to polish helmets etc. Easy to use and works!
