Hey. This is just my second post on here. I’m the weirdo with the xtra gas tank. So I’ve been reading about stators. Mine is bad. Here r the images. Tell me why please. What’s with the damage?

You could start unwinding it until you find the break in the wire.

First thing to check is the shaft play , It runs on. To much tolerance and it could have touched the outer part and shorted it. I would talk with a certified Honda tech. See if they suggest replacing both pieces. Kohler small engines suggest on many of their to replace both. Might be an updated model available also?????? Just like car alternators. Dirt and Heat are a killer.
