cargo

I know that saddle bags would be like breaking a commandment and would probably look ridicules on this bike, but has anyone thought about cargo of any type? For instance I carried a barrel bag on the back of my sissy bar on my vtx 1300 but it had a bracket for the bag to site on.Does not look like this will be doable on the furry sissy bar mostly because it doesn't have much of a fender left in the back for protection for the bag to site on if that makes sense.I know at some point all of use are going to need some type of storage even if its just for a jacket or couple sweat shirts.I think a removable barrel bag would look decent on the bike if we could figure out how to mount it.

I have been looking at seat bags myself. I just need it for overnight and weekend stuff. Maybe fit a full face in it just incase of rain.
I need something that can be mounted with passenger. The wife always has something to take like a leather jacket while riding into the night.
The fender frame work is sturdy. So it shouldnt be to hard to fab something to make the sissy bar bag work. The hard thing is going to be to make it look good and go with the lines of the bike.
Im riding down to Warm Springs, Ga. this weekend to check out some seat bags. I hope they have some that dont look to bad on it. I also have looked at some of BikersFriends bags online. But the closest dealer of thiers is in Helen, Ga. 2 1/2 hours north in the mountains and im to busy this weekend to go up there.
I know this might not be a popular answer and I will get flamed, but the Fury is a chooper not a cruiser. If you take long trips or need storage, you should be in the VTX arena
Choppers take the minimalistic approach. This is why Honda did not design this bike with any storage options and will not offer it via accessories.

No flames required, as the point made is a valid one :p

I bought my bike to ride on, be it down the road or across the state. Each rider has their reasons why they ride the bike they choose to ride. I did not buy a Chopper... I bought a bike. What makes a Cruiser a Cruiser anyways? Is it the rider or the bike?

I'm gonna use a backpack.
One of the first things I picked up after I got the bike :p
It would be nice to figure out some sort of storage solution for weekend trips that doesn't ruin the lines of the bike (other than a backpack). I'm currently using a backpack, but hate getting a sweaty back. I can't even find a good place to keep a sweatshirt with me for rides that go late into the evening. I know it's a chopper, but F the idea that we shouldn't have a need to bring things with us.

I have used 1 already. I'm just planning ahead for 1 or 2 night trips. Like Fall Thunder coming up in Sept. Any seat bag i buy will not stay on the bike for long periods of time.
How about that small rack that goes behind the seat? Is there any way to lash something on it?
It is what it is a chopper that is why I have three!! The Ultra Classic and the CBR1100XX both equiped to take trips and long rides. The Fury will stay close to home the Ultra will be used as a pack horse.
ive been looking at a bag that will sit on the seat and has a drivers backrest for long trips. the bag is at bikersfriend.com

How does it attach to the bike?
I hear you Chopped, I have same problem with the back pack. I was looking into Camelbacks at REI. They have some designs the backpack has air vents type channels on the cushion that contacts your back. Will keep you posted if I purchase. Size 1500 cu in. also has the typical CamelBack water thing.

I've been using a medium sized bikersfriend on another bike and have 'shared' it on my Fury. I have it bungeed to the Honda accessory low backrest. It doesn't 'reach' far enough to act as a backrest without some help (in the form of a foam block against the sissy). I'll probably get some blue or black dense foam and make a long backrest that I can velcro to the bikersfriend, then I'll be all set. The bikersfriend goes on and off in about a minute so it doesn't permanently 'ruin' the chopper look :).

yep, that's pretty much my statement that "I don't ride a motorcycle to try and pretend to be a hard ass". Got the inspiration from a picture of Jimi Hendrix on a be-flowered springer from the cover of 'South Saturn Delta'... mmph.. badness (the good kind !)..

Wish there was a better way to attach it other than bungees.
