Nice, but expensive until we see other options.

I plan on this at some point, but not until I see what options people come out with in aftermarket and what the results are to get a 240 or 300 on the bike.

If you think about it though...

New Chromed Rims: $999
Sell Old Rims: $600

You just upgraded for $399... sounds good to me :D

Let me see?

$3500 for a set of rims with matching rotors and new tires?

$1000 for a set of OEM rims exchanged for chromed ones?

DO THE MATH!

I have Chromed RC rims on my Road Star

I have Chromed exchanged OEM rims on my custom Riader.

The guys have to really work hard to remove all that "Honda" cast in crap on the Fury rims.

It looks like Preformance Edge cleaned them up really nice. They will be the ticket for a truly custom looking bike.

I agree $999 is crazy! If you google "Chrome Plating, Motorcycle wheels" there are tons of shops who do this. Most advertise ~ $550 to chrome a set of wheels, and that includes return shipping. I guess whoever is on ebay asking $999 is hoping to cash in on the lack of available wheel choices for the Fury.

Alot of work...

It seems Honda completely dropped ball, they rushed Fury to market with a tiny set of accessory stuff mostly made for a VTX.

I would ask how many man hours it takes to buff out those rims to a smooth finish. The prep is crucial for that plating to stay for a long period of time....

I would prefer from Honda direct chromed wheels!!!

I use to be in the chrome plating business. There definitely are different qualities of plating services out there and their is also a lot of competition to get your business.

Our motto use to be: Quality has it's price... Price alone has no quality!

This E Bay site advertises a "Wet look " to there chrome which (to me) would represent extra processes and care taken at the polishing, buffing, and plating levels. It's just like paint, most look OK then there are the ones that look like you could swim through the finish. Of course some prefer the matte look ;).

Next time your at the bike or car show see if you can tell the difference and then decide what you want on your bike.

PE also installs the new bearings in the chromed rims, so you don't have to grind out the extra layers of copper, nickle, and chrome that build up inside the bearing surfaces.

AGAIN, for those NOT familar with the labor and work involved in taking a OEM rim and getting to a show chrome finish........What they charge for their services is great. Personally I've used CycleImage.com for mine...but I install my own bearings.

But, if it's too pricy......there's always the dull stock finish which maybe just great for those guys and gals who love the stock look.

IMHO, I'm just saying $1000 is a steal at todays prices.

I have to agree with Pirate, there is chrome and then there is show chrome. If you want something like these guys do from the looks of the pics you will pay what they want for them. This has got me thinking. :) I do know a place that does show chrome locally that could do it so I may have to check into it, those rims do look awesome! BTW I hate being called a junior member so how many posts do I have to make before I become a member, I am 54 frickin years old. :)

I've called about 10 different places across the country and after they looked at the fury wheels they all have a pirce ranged around $900-$1000. The best deal I found was for $1200 which included both polished rotors, chrome driveshaft hub and both wheels.
Also, there are so many threads going on about a 240 tire on the stock rim. It's confusing as he** from mostly speculation and theory. Until someone actually gets positive results with pics to prove on the stock wheel, I'm gonna wait for more options since I would like to see a slightly bigger tire myself. Bottom line is, if you want it now then pay now prices. $1000 is a fair price for quality on these fury wheels.

Dudes trust me its worth it. I would do this in a heartbeat if they had a wheel exchange and I had a Fury a different color than the Matte silver. I have seen Performance Machine wheels that go for more than a grand for 1. I just don't want to be without my wheels for over a month.

I like your sales pitch, but you are not the only chromer offering 2 year (non prorated) warranty.
While another plater use a 24 step process and 5 plate chroming procedure.
It's all about the preparation of the metal being chromed.
The Fury wheels are unique with the dimples and notches that have to be prepared.
While some of you think the price is too much. Don't forget there are additional charges for bearings, seals, wheel mounting and balancing.

I suggest everyone do your research.
