Hey guys, just wondering about this fuel management system. I have one on the bike that was there when I bought it. I'm asking if I need to have anything done to it or it just looks after itself. I'm a bit ignorant about this little box of tricks.
Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated. 😆

Hi mate. There are three different Cobra controllers. There is the grey one with three pots, black one PowrPro and the other black one PowrPro Black that has an app for your iPhone. Could you take a photo and post it? My guess is you probably have one of the earlier controllers. If it is grey, when I had that controller I ended up setting it to 2-3-4.

No the 2000 is self contained. You don’t need to do anything to it, if bike is running right I wouldn’t touch it. As far as settings go, look back through the site and you’ll see all the different opinions everyone has with what settings to use.

Originally, out of the box, Cobra recommends 1-2-0 for the Fi2000 setup. BUT I am assuming that IS IF you are ALSO running their Intake and Exhaust systems too. I know I am. The bike was setup that way when I bought it.

As others have mentioned the grey controller is the first Cobra controller made for the Fury. If you slide the cover off you will find three pots that can be adjusted. The controller shipped set at 1-2-0 which is far too lean for the AU bikes. Make a note of your settings and we can go from there.

I've got cobras, pops when I get off the juice, no biggie.
Mechanic who did pre-inspection suggested Booster Plug (German), apparentlty simple to install, plug & play.
Their website barely loads (I must have Nazi protection), but unable to find one for 1300 - Booster Plug
He was gunna get back to me about an alternative.....

So what's the latest & greatest???

ALSO - Mechanic also suggested using Motul 3000+ 10w40 oil. Is that the go, or is it old tech now?

I use a powerpro. The powerpro has its advantages and disadvantages. A lot of bad reviews I've seen on the powerpro is from trolls, PCV fan bois, and people who didn't realize it won't actually give them more horsepower.

Biggest advantage, on the Fury at least, it will automatically take care of your tuning for any pipes and air cleaner you install, and give you better throttle response. Biggest disadvantage, it won't override the ECU limiters and give you more top end HP like a PCV, or reflash.

Yea I get trolls, comp bashing etc. So much information available these days, hard to sort fact from fiction (BS), don't wanna spend coin/labor on something this week, only to next week find out about something better I shoulda got instead.

The PowrPro and PowrPro Black work fine, I've not had a single problem with them or any Cobra controller. I'm currently running the PowrPro Black but if I had not got it real cheap I would have left the PowrPro I had connected.

Everyone has their own favourite oil but I always use the recommended Honda 10w30 oil as 4 litres from my local Honda dealer is cheaper than anything else I can buy from SuperCheap, Repco or any fancy brand oil from a bike shop.
