I didn't have to remove my tank. I unbolted the rear and propped it up to get the solenoid out. Made life a lot easier. I went with the Cognito Moto set. Nice polished aluminum plates and a cheater harness to stop the light from coming on. Same kit this guy uses. He has somengood videos and is pretty damn funny to watch.

Cheater harness? All I have are the plates and have no CEL after the change.
The kit I have is from Smart Moto. It comes with the plates and a cheater harness/plug that plugs into where the solenoid would plug in. It's supposed to trick the ecu into thinking it isn't missing. It's a kit I saw from The Valley Garage on YouTube. Real nice kit and haven't had any issues so far. But that's awesome that your light hasn't come on. Guess you could say, it's a little extra insurance that it won't.
