I didnt realize how easy it was to grind the foot pegs. I did it on a corner and didnt think I was hitting it all that hard. Scared the crap out of me because I wasn't expecting it. My next concern would be dragging the exhaust.

I know... I know... it's not a sports bike and don't ride it like a sports bike.

Just suprised at how little you can lean into it. Anyone else experiance this?

I've done it a couple of times already. Happened to me once when I pulled a hard right into a parking lot off the highway and again rounding an entrance ramp to a freeway. Scared me too. It does that when you're not expecting it. I'm glad they're there though, cause it they weren't, your exhaust would be what you'd hear scraping.

The last time I saw my peg it was about 3/16" long. I guess the bolt finally fell out and I was grinding the footrest. FYI: at this angle I was past the edge of the tread on the rear tire and less than 1/16" from the edge of the tire. I finally got my new pegs in so I can lean over without worrying that I will unknowingly tip the bike over!

there is a repair kit for this.it comes in the form of a cresant wrench.take those drag pins off and put them in file 13.
I actually like the warning the pegs give. Means hard mounted parts aren't far behind. For those who are disconcerted by draging pegs, you definitely won't like draging hard parts!

That is awesome. How many miles before you wore it down that far? The pegs are close to my favourite part of this bike. Scared the crap out of me when it first happened at good speed on an entrance ramp to the highway but now it's like a sport to see how long I can drag them.

those things caused me to dump my bike. i was coming out of a parking lot and down and out of the concrete drainage slope between the lot and the frontage road when the right one caught and bounced me to the left and hit the left grinder and bounced me back to the right but my peg was already gone from the first impact and down i went...4800 $ damage and two broken ribs from the force of the impact side to side and messed up hand from handlebar falling on it. GET NEW PEGS ASAP!!!!!!you will go down!!!!!
How fast were you going... only time this even remotely came close to happening to me was when i was riding at about 5 mph... turned to sharp and dug my peg into the cement and it flipped me around, luckily i caught the bike but I was about at a 45 degree angle or more... shut off the engine and everything... looked back and saw i had dug out some of the cement too... lol, scared the crap out of me. But, going at good speeds, say 25 mph or more, drag then and they just tell you to back off... feel comfortable with them now actually.

Two broken ribs, separated shoulder, and tore my right hand real good. The handlebar and grip came down on my little finger... specialist says theres a good chance its permanently damaged..ripped all the skin down to bone and nerves, crushed the tip, they called it an open tuft fracture. I lost it on a turn on loose gravel, got goin sideways, then hit a 3ft by 4ft pothole/sinkhole, the front wheel jackknifed and over I went(10 to 15 mph). Believe it or not a guy pulled over( i was on a frontage road) helped stand it up and picked up my peg and mirror , put em in my pockets and rode it home...3 miles or so on 1 peg and no back brake, no mirror, in the rain...didn't want to talk to cops!!!! 3 weeks now and the ribs aren't even starting to heal. could've been worse. i got lucky.. just miss my bike though, ride safe
How many times you crashed that bike now? Was it loose gravel and a pothole, or the peg feelers? Maybe both?

at first i thought it was pot hole because i went back the next day with my wife to take pictures for insurancse and found my goggles in a pothole....then about two weeks later i was watching tv and had a crazy flashback and it all came back to me....pretty scary and it gave me chills....i guess i had blocked it out and i was drinking at the time of the crash too!!!!! so quit bustin balls im just trying to pass on what happened. have you ever been in tramatic accident..its all a blur...so fuc you and get a life instead of readin posts and stalking people...what a loser!!!!!!!
Hey, if you're going to talk out of your a$$, then you shouldn't get so upset when you get called on your bull$hit. Maybe the real lesson here has nothing to do with peg feelers, loose gravel, or potholes, but rather the fact that you shouldn't drink and drive/ride. Whaddya think?

BTW, thanks for confirming what your opinion is worth, which is why I researched your PUBLIC posts. Dumbass.

Come on! Orton looked HAPPY that he hurt his finger in that pre-season game. He knew his stats were not going to be even close to Cutlers. Talk about setting someone up to fail, Denver fans will be dismal this year.

Ummm.... They were there a couple of years ago. They lost, but they were there. They have always been close with their defense, but now, thanks to Denvers Stupidity, they just might be a threat on offense!
If you are refering to me as a fair weather fan, I hate em when they suck, but I watch em anyway. I've been watching them way before their superbowl victory in "85"
Enjoy your rebuilding year(s)
Get your endorsement, It ain't that hard.
I aint here to cause no trouble, I'm just here to to the super bowl shuffle.
