Ok, I wanted to cover up the Honda logo on the crankshaft cover. Instead of using the billet covers from Honda or Kuryakyn I decided to have a couple of circles made from the a dash company we deal with.

These are three inch circles, but I'm thinking already they need to me larger and out to the edge of the bend in the cover.

I'm going to try these out for a month and see how they hold up. If they work would anyone be interested? These are real carbon fiber with a blue weave, but the come in silver, gray, red, and other colors.

I don't think you are at the point of, any interest at this time. You would have to photo shop every color offered with the exact size on same color bike, giving a full side view and show close up of weave to get a adequate and true response. How different would the color matches be to the true color of the bikes? In my humble opinion.:)

I like the idea but not the method. I love carbon fiber but IMO it just doesn't have a place on a chopper. What if you used metal (chromed) disks instead to cover it up right to the edges? Then it would look just like factory but with the logo covered up.

I agree, the carbon looks kind of silly IMO. I want to cover the honda, I found some POW/MIA emblems that are about three inches. I think they would cover and look good. I am just not sure how well the double sided tape stuff would hold up to the heat, and if they would stick out to far

If you can chrome plastic, can you also chrome body filler? If you filled in the honda logo with body filler and sanded it smooth, sealed it, and then had the whole thing rechromed, I wonder how that would turn out.... No covers, no tape, nothing to worry about falling off later. Thoughts?

They have several colors, but they do not match to the colors of the bike. I'm not happy with it either, but I'm still experimenting with it.

I agree, the carbon fiber didn't work. I'm testing how they hold up now. The dash company also makes some replications of brushed aluminum, which look like the disks submitted by Mental. I'm going to check and see if I can just get a chromed option from them.

Thanks everyone for your input. I really appreciate it.
Not all ideas work out the first time. Thank YOU for having the balls to try anyways. It's people like you and others with ideas that will eventually drive the aftermarket prices down to reasonable levels. When we do things ourselves, companies lose business. When they lose business, they lower prices to compete.

How about something like this,

I am trying to get a few pics of the covers on the bike, They are mad of polished aluminum that i cut on a water jet and dimple pressed to give it the contour needed to fit snug. They are held on with some 3M industrial double sided tape. Total cost 0, zilch, nada. If you like a pair all it takes is a pm

I don't see a camaro. I see a minivan in the reflection of your cover??
Maby the minivan is yours. Now it makes sense.
