In all the attention this bike has garnered while I've had it, NO ONE has said anything about the welds. Just what a beautiful bike it is. I also think it's really cool that Jesse James and crew had a lot to do with the design. You know our tank has some of the most beautiful lines out there.

I get the usual weld comments and the plastic comments.

Harley Davidson made a big issue of the welds in a couple of their ads that I saw online in a few places, but I think it was basically a case of them grasping at straws because they feel threatened (rightfully so I believe) by the Fury. Yeah, the die-hard fanboys are gonna use anything they can to justify their dedication to their "Biker God" that is Harley. But that itself applies to a myriad of situations. Ford or Chevy. Paper or Plastic. Vegan or Meat Eater. Religious or Atheist. Brand loyalty, or loyalty to anything at all, can and will be taken to extremes, and will seem misguided to those that don't go to those extremes.

I have never had anyone say to me the welds look bad. I have had a ton of people say to me the bike looks awesome, sick, badass, cool, and a ton of other words that, at my age, I wasn't even sure what they meant! Point is, the average person takes in the whole package at a "first glance" point of view. The Harley boys wanna put down some part of my bike to make themselves feel better about themselves, that's fine with me. Kind of a warped human nature thing to put others down to make yourself look or feel better about your choices in life. Hell, I would probably do the same thing if I ever realized I had gotten snookered into a hyped up P.O.S. deal by a bunch of slicked up marketing wizards.

Besides, since my bike is de-badged, I have actually managed to convince a couple of folks that I built the bike mostly myself, and even pointed out the welds, explaining that it was my first real attempt at them. All it did was convince them that I did in fact build the bike myself, which to them made it even cooler, because I was "doing my own thing". Yeah, I'll probably go to hell for lying like that, but oh well. Like that's the biggest thing I got to worry about!

I think my welds are fine, and I imagine I will own these welds far longer than many of the welds on the bikes of those that wanna put them down.

I won't "De-Badge" mine. I'm proud to ride a Honda. I did however give in to peer pressure and remove the reflectors and a couple pointless stickers. My biggest problem is now my wife wants my Fury for herself!!!

I know how you feel about de-badging her. I did take the sidecover Honda's off while at Indy and a few of the pointless stickers that uglied up the bike. I am leaving the Honda's on the engine cases open and the Honda on the triple tree alone. If they ask, I will tell them what it is, most people are starting to say, is that the Fury?, I've never seen one up close.

I didn't debadge mine because it's a Honda, I debadged it (and everything else I own) because it cleans up the look. Plus I'm not a rolling billboard with something that I bought. When I buy a car I make them remove the dealership tag off the back or replace the license plate frame unless they pay me $500 advertising costs.

I took all the badges and stickers off as I hate them. I do the same thing to my cars. I left the compliance plate (AU Law), the Honda on the crank case and the tiny Honda on the triple trees. No one has ever noticed the Honda on the crank case except HD riders. I don't care what anyone else thinks as I like it and ride it. I really appreciate Honda engineering every morning when the bike starts up first time, every time no matter how cold or wet the day is. I wish I could say that about my other bikes.

This is one of two bikes we created at the request of Honda Motorcycles. We were honored to be the only private manufacturer they turned to when they wanted a fresh take on a sport bike. They gave us free reign to come up with the kind of sport bike we would want to ride. The only request they made was to paint it Honda red.

They were so thrilled with the results of this one that they asked us to make a 2nd chopper style bike that morphed into what is now the Honda Fury. It was a high security project, so we don't have photos of the process we can share. But if you call any of the team that worked on the bike down here we can certainly point out the components that were used wholesale, and the areas where the engineers at Honda tamed it down for mass market.

*EDIT* I never knew West Coast Choppers hand a hand in the bike till the quoted brought it up, prob why the bike looks so damn good Thanks guys, nice info to have.
Yup, he sure did...

Thanks to Jesse James and West Coast Choppers for inspiring such a great looking bike

Regardless..............................

I always thought that the Big Dog Chopper may have influenced some of the design... Not alot of room for creativity when designing Choppers. There are alot of simularities when you take away the Rake. Regardless, he helped create a BAD Ass Bike....WE've taken it further!!!!
(PS: below is a Video comparing BD's and Fury's)
