garc, thanks for the clearification. we're lucky to have you;r kind of expertise available on the forum. I was a Honda bike mech. back in the 60's, when the biggest bike they made was a 450 and the Honda car was chain driven. Wow that was a long time ago. Subsequently, I went to college and became a desk jockey and retired. I have continued to tinker through the years and enjoy doing my own work. Just ordered the manual. Unfortunately, Honda has a lot of storefront dealers out there that are primarily interested in sales with little or no concern for true service. comments in this forum are proof of that. My dealer didn't have a clue that the valves were part of the initial service and told me that he doesn' do valves on the 1300's util 7000 miles. Certainly got me concerned.
