Hey guys I know I haven't introduced myself yet, I was sort of waiting to get some mods done for pics. First let me say thanks for all the info I have learned from everyone. Now question, I just put on some Cobra Swepts, heatshields aren't on yet, I was waiting to make sure everything was ok before I wrestled them on. So I started the bike and it only took a minute and they started getting hot, water/condisation coming from back, and when I turned it off after 1 minute a heard sizzle at cylinders, some smoke from back as well. what do you think. think just condisation its chilly here in b-more

So you think its just condisation too. I,m going to put the shields on and see what happens. thanks for gettin back

Bud of mine is on the PD and has a black one,,he took his out and I asked him how he gets by on the inspection,,he goes,,my badge,,i flipped him the bird and left him in the dust,,he thought his brakes were building up dust on his new back rim,,lol,, I told him it was gunk coming out of exhaust and spewing on your nice chrome $1000 rims,,lmao he had no clue he had to remap everything and maybe take it in to get it tuned,,lmao wouldnt listen to me:D BTW welcome to the forum

I just installed my Cobra Swepts yesterday and noticed the same thing with the condensation. I asked a buddy about it and he said that most stck pipes have a little hole in them so that the condensation drips out from there and not blown out the back. The pipes are running a little warm but not absurdly so and I'm not too worried about it till the season is in full swing and I start riding more. I'll get a PC-V later to smooth all that out. I didn't get a sizzle or smoke though so I think you may have a leak and need some exhaust gaskets.

Some have said that there is no performance change, but I believe Richard experienced a significant loss in power when he completely removed his baffles. In order to maintain some back pressure, a few people on here removed their baffles, cut them in half and put the shorter baffles back in the pipes. That way, they're louder but still have some back pressure so there would be no loss in performance.

Dave Maher did a real good instructional thread on how to do that. Here it is. He actually cut more than half off.

When I had the Cobra's I yanked the baffles and didn't feel any loss ? Wonder if Richard was running a controller at the time. I believe my scoot has more performance with the MFR straight open pipes and the Baron intake then it ever has .
