Drain plug issues

Damn I was changing the oil, put new crush gasket on and started to get it tight then now I think it's stripped. I don't see any damage to the plug praying that's all that's wrong.

It has to be torqued to specification to avoid this. May have to retread it.

be careful not to use it in cold surroundings though. It wont give a proper reading if it is a click torque wrench. I use a dial after I had one snap off my triple tree pinch bolt in 50% weather. That was f@c%ed. My bike was sole transportation at the time too.

Well good news, I pulled the drain plug out and noticed the last thread was flat. So I pulled the front drain plug out and put that on in the rear bam no issues. Thankfully it's just the bolt. Sucks I can't ride to work tomorrow, looks like I will be calling around to find a new drain plug.

I bottomed my Fury out while loading it up in the U haul last summer after my fuel pump failed on the way to the Dragon. I've had a drip problem ever since. My little Honda Davidson in the basement with a pig mat catching the oil. I'm due for an oil change so I guess I'll take a better look at it then.

Think i learned all about alum parts putting a alum intake manifold on my 69 impala when i was 20yrs old.....threads are not forgiving at all.....
