I run an hour a day & I did the old ‘no walk sign’ bolt.. I’d seen the bike cop sitting at the lights. I had ear phones in & I heard the siren but kept going at full tilt & I can run a bit.. he put his 1300 yammy up onto the footpath & I took off 90 degrees into a mall .. I saw him take another footpath & start to ride into the friggin mall !! I backtracked 🤣 ..prick still got me $53. I see nsw has a sissy height rule yet not in qld but we have the same no stabbie point sissy bar rule.
Riding through a pedestrian mall has to be illegal. That cop was putting other people at risk by doing what he did just to give you a ticket. Then again the QLD police do have a reputation for harassment. You must have been tempted to dob him in for riding on the footpath.

Yeah NSW just had to put that rule in, but without a point you can still get a reasonably tall bar on. The dumb thing about that rule is that it can't be higher than the rider's head. So if you are taller the sissy bar can be higher and the rule does not say if "higher than the rider's head" includes your helmet. The cops have never given me grief over any of my sissy bars. Indicators, air cleaner, exhaust and handle bar height have all been checked during either a random breath test or a routine traffic stop.

I'm quite sure someone from down under will argue this point but...WTF???? I suppose the assumption of innocence has no place in a civilized society.
Random breath testing came in around 1982/1983. The idea is to scare people out of drinking and driving because you never know when you will be stopped and tested. Under this procedure the cops don't need a reason to stop you other than saying it is a random breath test. As you would expect Friday night, Saturday morning, Saturday night and Sunday morning is when most stops happen and the cops always pick a spot where there is no escape path. All it really did was stop people who might have had one drink from having that. The people with a drinking problem kept on drinking and driving.

Yeah they love to get you for pointy bits. I got pulled over for random breath testing and the cop was looking my bike over. I thought I was done for the spike air cleaner but he just shoved a rod up my exhaust and hit the baffle because he thought my bike was a bit loud. Then he asked if my muffler was stock and I said " yes it's a genuine Honda muffler" and pointed to the Honda stamped on the muffler itself. Which is true it is a stock Honda muffler, just not an AU/EU/UK one. He looked a bit bummed he couldn't give me a ticket, but I got off.
Mine isn't anything to be careless around, it's a bit "pokey." I've had to patch a few few covers when the microfiber cloths moved.... :(

I didn’t think about a cover & stabbie bits … a patch would actually be good as it would put a stop to the endless 20 min fight I have with my bike covers trying to friggin’ work out which bit is the bloody front & which is the rear
