I just got a call from my dealer today, saying that my Silver Fury that order 2 months ago will not be here on Thursday. Honda took it upon themselves to send the one I ordered to a different dealer.

Now my dealer is trying to run one down for me by the weekend and not having much luck at finding the Silver one I ordered.

He wanted me to take the black one he has in stock, but it's not the one I wanted. After thinking it over, I told him that I would take the black one if he put cobra swepts pipes on it. He's thinking it over and said there was a good chance that may be the deal if he can not find me a silver one.

The pipes are a cool offer and black is cool....but do you really want to settle for the sake of a couple of weeks it's a big purchace $$ JMO i spent a couple of months just to see all the colors (lots of diff. dealers) but if speed is what you want buy a blue one cuz they are the fastest (Come with a turbo button on the trees) the other colors it is just a decoration sticker...

When I ordered it was looking hard at the black also, but ended up choosing the Silver.

With getting the Cobra pipes to me is enough to go with the black over the silver. Both are sharp looking bikes, hell all the colors looks great for that matter.


I thought about that also, but I don't think he is that type of person. He was not very happy Honda when he called to find out why took my bike off his shipment.

Black lends itself more to custom paint and would be a good choice if that was a direction you were going.

If it were me, i'd hold out for the color I wanted. Take your money and walk out the door and see if he has a little better luck trying to find a silver one. Hell, your on the east coast. There must be a bazillion honda shop around.

I agree with Sea Dawg, wait for what you want. I was in the same boat as you. I had my deposit on a matte silver for about 5 months before my dealer told me they weren't getting any. He could have given me a black one for 1000$ more and on top of that I would have had to repaint it and that would have just cost me more money. I was very close to saying yes, but when it came right down to it, it was a lot of extra money for a color I didn't want and then it would have cost more money to get it to where I wanted it. Long story short I ended up getting the bike I wanted in the States for about 3500$ less than up here so it worked out great in the end.

Were I you, I would just be patient and wait the extra couple weeks for what you want.

You need more than the pipes, you'll need the Cobra fuel controller also, or it will backfire on decelerations. Make that part of the deal, and do it. Black is good for all occassions.

Give Planet Honda in Chadds Ford PA a call 610-361-8001 they had a silver available along with two black ones, this was 3 weeks ago but they aways have at least one fury in stock. Chadds ford is just west of Philly on the PA DE boarder about a 3 hour drive or less from where you are.

I don't understand why he doesn't have one shipped from somewhere in the country.
My buddy just came back from working in Vegas and it cost him $600 to have his Harley shipped back. I would have left it there myself.
My question is why can't he get a silver one from a dealer and get it to his store?
DON'T LET HIM TALK YOU INTO THE ONE YOU DON'T WANT.
Go on line, goggle Honda Motorcycle stores, find a silver one (call the stores)
and tell your Honda guy you have been dealing with to get you the bike you want or you'll get it somewhere else.
They work for you! They don't tell you what to do. You tell them.
And don't forget to tell them to lower the price for mental anguish.
