I was looking to remove the exhaust support on the side of the rear tire. Has anyone else done this and have some advise?

if you remove that support your header pipes will crack sooner or later.

Having the wheel/tire off helped me alot, I also unbolted the regulator to aid in getting the front of the bracket wiggled out.

All the pipes (Vipers, Viper-2, Reapers, and Mayhems) we make have a support brackets. If you don't have some sort of bracket supporting the exhaust they will crack or damage the exhaust ports.
If you are looking at doing your own exhaust make sure you have a bracket to support it.
