depends on the sound you want, i wouldnt trust youtube vids either since mic distorts a little, and distance effects it.

Mine sound good to me, I would avoid the cobra swepts since alot of people already have them and they arnt loud until you pull the baffles

yea but when you pull the baffel they seem to sound very good
look at the sampson street sweepers then, similar pipe but louder with the baffles its comprable to cobra no baffles

Exhausts choices are like choices in women (or men if you're a chick). They're all good...

I have a little experience in this matter. My scooter came with Fuggin Mayhems. I honestly feel they follow the lines of the bike better than anything else on the market. Cool looking and VERY LOUD. I switched to Cobra Swepts because the Mayhems stuck out too far and burned my leg more than once. The Swepts were my second choice. Pulled the baffles and "honestly" equally as loud as the Mayhems with a slightly deeper sound.....(probably due to the length). I've had Vance and Hinces in the past on my Roadstar 1600, and loved them!!!! Very high quality piece of work.

You won't go wrong with any one of them, IMHO.

But like IMWRIGHT1985 said, don't go by youtube.......It's not realistic.

what kind of exhaust you looking for though, something short or something longer that covers the swingarm? if something short you could look into the mayhems, but some have complained that they burn there legs and they come across the shock cover, plus they are pricey at like 800 dollars. something a little longer is the the morton inferno's (the ones i'm going to get) and they are unbaffled and supposedly pretty loud from owners of them have told me and they are decently priced at 600 plus power cones 60, again beauty is in the eye of the beholder so just depends on what you want, just let people know what your preference is and they can point you in the right direction.

i would venture to say around $1,300 depending on which cobra pipes (guess $600) and which air intake (guess $250-385) and power commander ($350).

I’m running cobra swepts with the baffles removed. I like the sound a lot. If I were going to switch to something else (which I have considered) I would look hard at the Fuggin pipes.

I'm with you on the Fuggin offerings Rich. I personally thInk they're best looking ones available. I went with their Reapers cause I appriciate the "old school" look, but I think the Viper and the Mayhem are sweet looking too.I'm also very happy with the sound of my Reapers.

I stored my bike at the dealer where I bought it, and had them add the Accutronix foreward controls, grips, and passenger pegs. I installed the Cobra swepts last year, with the S&S airbox and I was basically happy with the sound. They were louder than stock by far, but still quieter than most of my riding friends.
I wanted to change my fuel controller because I have heard nothing but good things about the Power Commander, so I had the dealer knock out the baffels as well. I gotta tell ya, I couldn't be happier. I can't wait to wake up the neighbors on the weekday mornings at 5:30 AM. They're gonna love me now!

I have fuggins viper 2, they are a 2into1 pipe with baffles, which are supposed to give the best perfomance, which they do,the hole shot is awesome. But they also sound great, when you twist the throttle they sound loud and low, but if your light on the gas you can come home late without pissing the neighbors off. I think the shorter pipe frames the chrome engine better and lets you show off the new fancy rims.

I'm having cobras installed with a power commander and air intake.... should sound pretty sweet.
Yea - you will love that look bro. I have the same setup with the Cobras/PCV. I went witht he spike intake and matched it with spike ends on grips and spike ends on footpegs. Which intake were you rollin' with?
Back to the question at hand ...... there's a decent number to choose from and everyone else who posted up on your thread pretty much nailed it. We all have different likes - any exhaust upgrade is an improvement over the stockers!!

WDH; how long have you had them on and curious if you've had any bluing issues? I thought JH's mayhems with a slight gold patina after 6k miles looked just fine; I'll be more than happy with that if that's what I get on my new Viper2's; but I'm more concerned not to get that dark, deep constellation blue-type bluing running from port to collector.

Ebay cobras are like 550 , Ebay power Commander is 260, I think if you like the look of the cobras but want loud go sampson Hellraiser SS's like RedspawnSilver has. I heard cobra's on a wahmaha and it was way too quiet for me, Maby as loud as a stock HD.

My jardines are really low when im around 3/4 throttle gets a nice cammy crackle, not loud enough to set off car alarms with slightly trying, but loud enough my co workers can hear me pulling in and parking about 50 + yds from the office, and you can hear them in my house idleing as loud as my neighbors band playing about 100 yds away
