Finally will be joining the Chromed Lowers Club
Chromed lowers arrived today from StumpWerx and they're
gorgeous.
I will hopefully have them swapped out next week.
Once that's all done and my seat from Easy E gets here, I'm done for quite awhile. It's time to ride and enter her in contests.
For those of you planning on chromed lowers, consider this:
There is oil in these 'cause they're like shocks. Therefore, there are O-rings and seals involved. Though the dealer thinks I'll be able to re-use what's on my bike, I ordered a new set of rings, washers and seals to be certain that once they have my bike, they can do the work in a day. I want no hang-ups, at all.
So, If you decide to get new rings, washers and seals, here's what you need:
http://www.hdlparts.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=1329620&category=Motorcycles&make=Honda&year=2010&fveh=37362
Item 27 (washer) ..... P/N 90544-283-000 ... QTY 2
Item 21 (seal set) ... P/N 51490-MFR-671 ... QTY 2
Item 29 (O-ring) ..... P/N 91356-MW0-003 ... QTY 2
I could've saved a little money had I ordered them on-line, but I didn't think to order these in advance and now I'm impatient.
I would hope I can either return them or re-sell them IF the shop determines it's fine to re-use my old stuff. But, chances are that if they don't permit a return, I may just go with the new seals/rings since I paid for them. I don't want to have to go back and address a leak after the fact.
OOOPS, almost forgot ... "photos or it didn't happen"
p.s.s.: Hello Jack!
