Looks AWESOME...how did you get the full compression measurement? Ie is that the full travel of the fork in chrome? Just guessing?

Also how did you prep the chrome? Interested in if it holds up over time. I have a spare damaged fork tube I might have to play with....

Full compression is 4” so I left 5” not painted. Just cleaned the chrome with a rag then put 3 coats on.

Might want to test that with a fingernail...

Paint needs something to bite into, so generally the chrome is first dulled with 220-grit sandpaper, followed with 320 & 400-grit to provide micro-abrasions.
