I was thinking from an aesthetic pov of removing my front fender. Besides the debris/water issue (debris kick up/water kick up) what are the other disadvantages of removing this piece of plastic?

Yea, I had the same thought when I first bought the bike... went to a bike show and there were some old choppers there without the fender on... if you really think about it though, some of those rocks that the fender are stopping from hitting your bike, also is stopping them from being shot up at you as well... just a thought... Since it's easy to take off... try it for a ride or two to see how it feels, then report back to us...

That is very true but at the same time, if i was truly worried about my safety I wouldnt ride my bike in Florida (God's waiting room) - LOL - but seriously is there anything besides debris and water i should be worried about?

Nope, not really, can't really think of one actually... I would get some of those clear tank guards though to protect your paint up front if you were going to do this for an extended time.

Like that little clear plastic tab that is right where your seat meets up with the gas tank... something like this... when I find the link to the motorcycle one, I'll post it back up, check out the one for the cars while you wait: Select Your Coverage:

Found it... here: http://www.webbikeworld.com/paint-protection/tank-slapper/ducati/

I'm going with the Low and Mean new fender. The lower fender gives the illusion of the rake being more and offers even more protection to the rest of the bike with dirt, rocks, water etc. I like to keep my bike clean. No front fender would be a nightmare for me.

I'm with you Blue Dragon.no fender is not a good idea, had bikes with short thin fenders & it was a real drag keeping the rad & motor clean.I'd like to fit an extention if I could find one in chrome..

No fender on the front will indeed give the bike a really cool look however you might quickly rethink this idea once you have had a chance to hear, feel and see the sandblasting effects such small sand particles kicking up cause to the finish of the frame and other area's of the bike.

Thanks Lofty and Dave said it like it is.....
I am big on FORM, but NOT at the expense of FUNCTION! When you find something that enhances asthetics and increases function, you've got a winner. I think the L&M fender does that. It hugs the tire, has very cool lines, gives an illusion of more rake, yet covers more and protects more. PERFECT! I'll post pictures when it gets installed. Having silverleaf done and clear coat next week. Most expensive part of this mod has been the PAINT!

I agree the L & M front fender is one of the nicest upgrades in my opinion that anyone could make to their ride. The photos of the reaper fender do not do it justice and has to be viewed up close. The Lines and the design of this fender matches the flow and style of the bike perfectly and I only wish I felt the same about the their new rear fender but its just not happening for me.

I think I'll like the rear fender, but I've already gone through this with my husband's bike. The Yamaha Raider guys weren't crazy about that L&M rear fender either...including my husband, but after a while he decided to purchase it. It definately gave his bike a custom look...He won first place RADICAL CUSTOM in the biggest indoor bike show in this region this year! Like you said, pictures don't do these fenders justice... but here is the Raider.
I love it and I think L&M did an even better job on the Fury rear.

Hey, that Yamaha looks badass! Wow! I didn't know they could look so good. Almost converts me over from the Fury.

think of the weight savings he'll achieve removing the front fender: omg, that bike will easily be at least 6oz. lighter.
his top speed will be thru the roof!

And, yes, that Yamaha is very nice.

Rtrombone, I didn't mean to high jack your thread. Although it is not my recommendation to remove the fender, if you decide to run without, post a picture.

Thanks guys for the compliments on the Raider...my husband will get a kick out of the positive comments on a Fury Forum. I have to compete with that bad boy at the shows. My goal is to show him up someday. :D
