Front spoiler LED light kit owners question?

2465 Views 11 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  RedspawnSilver
I recently purchased the front spoiler kit, and the LED light kit. I put the LED light kit in the front spoiler, and noticed a unsightly amount of space between the actual bulb and the indentation of the spoiler. Have you guys noticed this also? I would like to get some photos out, but I am not that blog savvy. But, I am worried about water, road grime, etc. getting stuck in the front spoiler. I was thinking silicon. I need some words from the gurus.

I'll look at mine tomorrow but I thought mine looked fine. I know for a fact the installer did not silicone anything, it was simply follow instructions install.

Mine stick out a little and are NOT loose at all.
There is a little space as you described.

Tony's looks like I recall mine looking. They are NOT loose and they are sealed LED's so water wasn't an issue.
Cool, so the space is normal however still weird to me. I am a engineer, I can't help but think about bugs attracted to light, and water getting in weakening the double sided tape for the beam light unit. I think I am going to have to do some type of mod, but seeing the hole is not a perfect circle it is going to take some soul searching.

I don't know about attracting bug's being that low to the ground, but I've ridin in a good rain and no problems.
The chin spoiler does collect debris on top. I have a few scratches in the paint from washing it off. (My only complaint) Not to mention cleaning the teeth of the Skull Irate grill.. lol

A little of this thread but while the spoiler is up for discussion I would like an opinion from those who have purchased one with the light kit and your opinion as to is it worth it? I really like the look of the spoiler and would like to purchase one with the light kit but every time I go to pull the trigger I can't get myself to justify the costs of that little ad on. I was hoping for another choice by now from another aftermarket one that was of a little less cost but now I am rethinking it and I am close to the add to cart and buy now button. Also wondering if I have this weak moment again where can get this for the best possible price for it. Thanks for any help. Dave
I love the look and I like the LED's shining in my chrome front wheel combined with the red LED kit under the bike but you are right, I do think honda has it a little too expensive. Just don't make the mistake I did. If you are going to get it get both parts at the same time or you'll have labor removing it all to add the lights.
Like Snuffdog said, it is best to get the LED and spoiler at the same time.
I added the LED's after already having the spoiler on..
It is pricey but it is also quality. After I got the LED light kit it is bullet proof. They provide the fuse box connection for the Aux with the wiring harness.
It will make you rethink the stock headlight bulb, changing it for a more white light..

Dave,

I got mine included with the initial purchase of the bike. I really like the spoiler....looks good at profile and the lights, imo, look great from the front. Gives me more visibility on the country roads (from front and side).....I'd recommend it. Tony is right, you'll probably change your headlight bulb....I wanted a brighter one and got one that Tony recommended....couldn't be happier about the spoiler and bulb.

Thanks guys for insight and the help. I think I'm going to just have to pull the trigger!! As much as I hate to spend the money on it only because I thinks over priced I think is one of those add ons that I can't live without and I'm going to just have to do it. Now I just got find find the best price so I can help justify it in my own mind and help soften the pain. Thanks guys for all the helpful input and I'll start shopping around now!

L&M is coming out with a spoiler... don't know if it will have the LED attachment or holes for it though... but, just a heads up.
