Has anyone on the forum replaced their fuel tank cap with the flush mount, such as the hot match pop up?

Yes, Picklehaub did and it cost a fortune.

Unfortunate that there will never be a cost effective solution for a flush mount pop-up fuel door for our tanks. You would basically need to gut the internals of our caps so you get the sealing and locking mechanism and adapt a pop up portion that would seal, lock, and allow you to pump fuel.

I'm about to attempt mine. I plan on cutting the entire recess section out and welding in a whole new vented cap with the threaded sleeve. I'll post some pics when I am done.

Yup quite do-able if you want to alter the tank. Drop in solutions may never come to be though

My expanded tank is cool with the factory cap but my next one will have a flush mount cap.

Throw up a picture of your expanded tank. I've not seen one. Did you do it yourself? How many gallons now?

Search my profile. I have a few build threads going. Im a little over 4.5 gallons. I built it myself from Kens crashed tank. Im gonna build another from scratch and I will have th remember that the tank sealer that I used takes up some space. I want to shoot for 5 gallons next time. I will attach a few pics though but the builds have a crapload of photos. First one is the wrecked tank that I started with.Theres a side view, top view and a side by side with the factory tank mounted on the bike. .
