My local Honda dealer called me and said my bike had a recall, something about the crankcase breather hose could crack. Then they said the bike had to be in the shop for a week! Has anyone had the same thing done? seems like I could rebuild the whole bike in a week. I wish Honda would have come out with this when there was snow on the ground.

I'm pretty sure this recall has been out since like October/November, I just remember I didn't take mine in because the weather was to cold to ride the bike to the stealership so I told them I would wait until this summer, it's nothing serious from what my stealership said, said it just takes a few minutes to fix it if I remember right. There have been two recalls so far that I know about, this hose and then I had to get a sticker for sound or emissions switched out.

Dryer Honda Indianapolis, in and out in 30 minutes, The trick is have them order or check stock for hose. let them order it in for you if needed. then schedule it after they call and say they have it in. they told me at first to drop it off in the am and p/u in the pm. but when I dropped it off they had a mech free, and I was riding in a half hr.

I had mine done before the season started. Set up an appointment and they ordered the part. I had my bike back in about two hours. I also had them install some grips while I was there and had to wait for the glue to cure before I could ride. A week is just them saying "We are busy and an appointment would be inconvenient, so just drop it off and we will get to it on our time, NOT when you want the bike back."

I had gone to a different dealer and they told me roughly the same time frame because they don't do warranty or recall work unless the bike is in their possession. Something about people having them order parts and then never coming back to get the work done, then they get stuck with parts they will never use. Sounds like it might be the same thing you are seeing. Call around and see what another dealer offers, even if you have to travel it may be better service.

Ya they did mine during my 600 check n oil change...parts were in stock. in cal. they won't let you renew your reg. without it being done cuz it's emmisions related...:D

p.s. when you bring it in there is a service bullitin out for possible coolant leak (bad clamp) have them pull all SBs on bike.....

You need to find another dealer. Mine was done a few months ago. In and out in an hour. They wanted to let the engine cool down so they put a fan on it. No prob.

Had mine done in December. Left mine overnight but that was my choice. Dropped it off just before they closed and they called me just after noon to say it was done.

just got my recall postcard yesterday. It actually stated that they sent out the notices in November 2009 and that the card is a "reminder." considering I didn't buy the bike until the end of April 2010, WHY WASN'T THE RECALL ALREADY HANDLED AT THE DEALERSHIP!!??

Hi,

Got mine to norway Nov 09. this recall was fixed before the bike was delivered at the local dealer in des 09.

I have also have a fix on the cooling system when the bike still was in the shop. 7,5 hours job with unmounting the engine. No cost of mine, but do not know if this was only my bike.
