I was looking for a place to plant my garage remote with easy access. I decided to mount under the the speedo. Simply used adhesive velcro. So far no one has found it, and you have to look hard to see it unless looking for it. The remote is the smallest one I could find at Home Depot, and also has an L.E.D. light on it.

On my Shadow, the seat is bigger and has a great spot to mount under the seat in a cove that has easy access. Can easily hit both of them while in motion so I can just pull right in.

Gars' Remote Control Garage Door Opener

Here is an idea for your opener:

Garage Door Opener: 3 doors ≈ mine, hers & yours

Try finding a remote in your pocket with gloves on cuz you won't have it hanging from your key .

No web site but I bought a pair of these switches 10 years ago from the address below
so a phone call might be all you need if they are still in business:
Mikado Technology

If there is anyone out there that knows it, Señor Gar is the Man!!

The airbox install is definitly a clean look. But I'm just not that creative. For me, a $30 remote and an 8 second install was just about right.

if your opener is megacode or linear corp, they make a tiny remote about 1/2" by about 1 1/4 x 2. do a search for linear corp door openers.

your idea is better.
