Half helmets?

Ok I have a full face helmet and love the protection it provides. With the weather getting warmer and I have started riding with my neighbor. Its hard to talk to eachother at stop lights in such. It sucks lifting up the shield and yelling across.

What brand and style of half helmet do you all have? I dont want to ride w/out a helmet, plus I cant for the first year.

I use a helmet called the 'Bushranger' its a openface does not provide much protection but looks pretty cool and is comfy
I really like my non DOT from this company. It fits and looks great. I also feel like it offers a lot more protection than other non DOT helmets I have used. I tried to get a DOT the other day for someone else, but they said they were currently not making DOT. I know they offered DOT in the past, so hopefully they will again soon.

I called on Monday to order one of their Polo helmets in flat black and they told me they were being recalled and they were not able to sell them at this time. He said for me to try back in a couple of weeks. Sounds like one of the testing companies they use did not give it the DOT grade
Carbon Fiber Helmats

I got my helmet from carbonfiberhelmats.com....it is the smallest dot helmet you will find.

If you want to keep a full face get one of the Shoei or HJC modular helmets. The front comes up at the touch of a button and a lift. You could also go with a 3/4 helmet. The shorty helmets are fine I have 2 of them. Only wear them to bike night and then wear a bandana around my face to keep bugs and grit out of my teeth. Longer rides I wear a full face.
I drive a Titan Gensler. A very light and thin fiberglass helmet. I do not like free ears, so I use a Jet helmet.

Love the helmet, do you use bobber glasses with that as well? That would look cool... I sometimes wear the bobber glasses myself, gives a slight old school feel to it IMO..

I have about 5 glasses that I switch between, mostly I wear this half-helmet for short trips or the weekend or my full face Shoei, looking around for my next helmet though... ;):

RS ... to be honest the helmut doesn't look that bad. I guess to carry it off you need a good set of goggles or sunglasses.

I've always worn full face helmets more for safety reasons. I've seen the injuries to the jaw that an open face can cause. But on a Fury high speed really isn't the issue. At the end of the day the Fury is all about chilling out and enjoying the ride. The more comfortable you are the better the ride.

Thanks, yea... goggles sometimes make the look, actually kind of like them...
