I'm not sure what project your working on the bars them self are 1 1/4" and they are stepped down to 1" at the grips. If your looking to mount something on the bars them self look for 1 1/4" if your looking at grips its 1".

I used 1" u-hooks when I adapted the bike cell phone holder to fit onto my bike.. it is not the grip section but the actual bar...
At least I think I remember it being 1", installed it while having a beer or two....
bah, just buy a couple of cheap u-hooks to find out....:p

Unless I'm on drugs I know that is 1.25 because I recently had a small handlebar clock and temp gauge that I had on another bike with 1'' bars milled out to fit the new 1 1/4 size of these bars. Its a little wider and you can see how it steps down when the grips are removed. At least that's how I remember it and someone else can weigh in.

Yup, Mental is right; the main bar is 1.250", and the step-down at the grips is 1.000".

Cheers
