I've learned a lot from HDForums over the last year or so. It's a decent forum. Sure, there are the share of people who can't stand anything different from what they like. But that can happen with just about anything. A decade and a half ago I recall hearing about some huge turmoil that a co-workers 'Gold Wing Club' was going through because a percentage of the club wanted to kick out all the 'Valkyrie Riders' (for not riding real GoldWings).

Anyhow, I went through that thread and it seemed like there were more open minded people posting than not.

If you read all the comments, most of the HD guys aren't negative about it, it's just the toothless idiots that probably don't even own a Harley or any bike that talk trash. as far as the guy with the Custom chopper, Sure he might have some braggin rights, But he spent 30-40k or more for his bike, so he paid a high price just to brag up someone.
Not worth the extra 17-27k or more in my book.

I'd like to know why HD instantly thinks that they are being copied if someone builds a chopper. They think too highly of themselves. Has anyone heard the new HD radio commercial mocking the Fury as a clone of HD? It makes me sick. They must feel intimidated to go to the trouble to make such a commercial.

Yea i've had a couple guys comment to the tune that HD should file a law suit against honda...but i have yet to see any model of HD that resembles the fury... heck the vstar and vulcans and raiders, etc.. are way more of a copy of an HD heritage softail than anything.... the only thing the fury comes close to, is HDs custom choppers, and so far all of those i've seen aren't even close besides just being another chopper.

I think its mostly jealousy and stubborn brand loyalty that the hardcore HD lovers think that any kick ass looking bike has to be a harley. Does Harley Davidson hold a patent on bad ass looking bikes? I think not.

pretty pathetic if you ask me.

oh and one guy told me that west coast choppers should sue for stealing there idea....lol

Harley Rider

I'm new to the fury forum and I'm a harley sportster rider so don't crucify me.

First let me say I'm not a "hard core" harley person. I pledge alligence to nothing but the flag. Bikes are bikes and whatever type of bike a person chooses to ride is fine with me.

I was about to purchase a new Fat Bob. Got a quote last week and went back yesterday to do business. In this week's time the price went up by $900 from the previous week. I refused to pay it regardless of what justification they tried to make. This would be a car or truck payment not a bike.

I live near Pittsburgh so riding season is rather short.

My question is, do you riders who have had other types really like the fury?

I looked at one this morning again and almos walked out with it?

What's your honest opinion!

Thanks!!

Rich it is all friendly in here!!

I can tell you that I was really loving the Victory Kingpin 8ball and when I found the Fury, got a test ride and know the reliability of Honda, it was a no brainer. The bike is fun to ride and just has a "Cool" feeling about it. And if your not a brand loyalist and can look at bikes for what they are then you can probably find many attirbutes for this bike. The styling and price sold me along with the Honda name! If you don't have to be the fastest guy or worried about how much metal there is you'll love it. There is always going to be someone faster and someone with an endless supply of cash with a total custom bike. I could care less about either.

Hope you get one!!

Thanks Hoseman

I have no particular loyalty to a brand. I have had 4 Hondas but in years past and never had an issue with them. I don't really have an issue with my present Sportster either. I just love the look of the new Fury. The salesman told me it was sold already but then the manager came by and said it was not sold.

Its kind of comical as the Harley salesman for the Fat Bob I was about to purchase said I was buying into a heritage and a way of life. I told him I may get that with a newer Harley but I'm not about to pay an increase of $900 since the first quote I received. All the Harley's look very similiar with identical engines and transmissions. This is what caught my eye with the Fury as it didn't look like anything else and appealed to me.

I may be back there Saturday morning and riding home on the Fury.

I Own a Yamaha Road Star Silverado S Cruizer and I love it, had a Roadking, Suzuki BV, and a couple of Hondas over the years, and liked them all. I will say the maintenance on the Harley and paying for the name was a drag. I bought the Fury just as a kick around town bike, but can't get off of it. I love the ride, pretty quick, fun as hell to ride, good lean. If a guy wants a chopper at a good price and something he can trick out to his own liking, then a Fury leaves a little spending room and a great ride to boot. In my opinion, After about 15 bikes over the years I rate it at a 9 out of 10.

The Fury is the 3rd bike I have owned. My first one was a Vulcan 1500 and loved it but it kept breaking down after 12 years so I traded it in on a 1200 Sportster which after coming off the 1500 Vulcan was not near the bike so I sold it and seen the new Fury and love it and bought it. Out of the 3 it is my favorite I have owned and not once when I had the Sportster did anyone comment what a nice bike I had which I get compliments everyday now on the Fury. I for one dont care what anyone else is riding to all his own. I buy what I want not what everybody else tells me I should buy. I personally dont think the HD Rocker is very attractive and it cost about 4000 more.
