I was going to tell them I have the motor rigged up on something else like a tractor pull rig or something. But they said I’d need to talk to Don himself and he wasn’t there at the time.

Sucks that I was waiting on this winter also. Back to buying the Powerpro I suppose. I probably should buy it now before they raise the price back up to $599.

I think I will go to the backyard and shoot some guns to make myself feel better before the socialist show up to try and take them also.

The EPA should be more concerned about plastics, fertilizers, and pesticides polluting springs, lakes, and oceans.

What if you live in another country, or sign a waiver that you are only using it at the track.;)
I guess if you live in another country where the VIN can't be crosschecked by the EPA you should be OK. Or you could send your ECU to someone outside of the USA and have them post it to Don, then he could post it back to the same person outside of the USA, then that person could send it back to you in the USA. That way Don can "prove" he did not reflash an EPA controlled product.

Hey Max, sounds like a good way to pick up some extra MAD money.Wow. I would have never thought that would be a problem. I had mine reflashed back in the winter, guess I got it to them just in time.

So here is the issue... the EPA has decided that if a vehicle was ever designed to be used on road it is not allowed to be used as a race vehicle.

This means that if you have an old fox body mustang that is essentially worthless and you gut it and build a roll cage and turn it into a full out race car... you are breaking the law.

Here is what YOU can do about it...

Click the link above to contact your elected representatives and tell them to pass the RPM Act.

Also tell everyone you know to do the same thing and post this link to any other forums, or social media platforms, you may be a member of to get the word out.

Reflashing ECUs is NOT a service Guhl Motors offers.

Ken, would you ask Don about ECUs from outside the USA? The EPA only have jurisdiction in the USA and I would think this would allow Don to flash an ECU as long as it's not being used in the USA.

Curious, did he get reprimanded with a fine?

I'm curious about the EPA involvement. Since some of us who got the Guhl reflash experience have noted an increase in mpg, one would think the engine burns fuel more efficiently. Or, the improved mpg due solely to the lower idle.

William Ruckelshaus started these heavy restrictions on fuel consumption and performance restrictions in our country. He was a the very first administrator for the EPA and he was a republican.
