If memory serves, the first thing Obama did was remove them and replace them with rainbow-flag wavers. Then, like under Clinton, we were perpetually enforcing our will places we probably didn't belong. Trump, for good and for bad, mostly ended the policy of Police Action, and with that said, and if memory serves, the United States isn't supposed to use military force against other countries unless a Declaration of War is issued by Congress, so, if mostly ending our military involvement wasn't necessarily a good thing in some instances, at least it appears to have been the "right" thing. However, the military was already quite tainted, and removing the piss from the punch was too large a task.

One of the things Pelosi said after Trump took office is [approximately], "If Trump doesn't vacate the White House after he loses the next election we'll use the military to remove him by force," later parroted by Biden. There's reason behind those words.

MacArthur, a man who knew human nature, wanted to save the world a lot of expense and suffering. You see where that line of thinking got him and Patton...so there's probably not much left in the modern military.
Well, if/when America lets the little guys lose their own battles against the giants for a few yrs. or ten...then what? The big boys duke it out? That could get real ugly for the multi-millions of fans of both opponents in the ring...hell, it may even be a tag-team match...or, a free-for-all....winner take all...of what ever is left. Glad I'm not in my 20's. What's this world going to be like 40 or 50 years from now?

The USA can not “win” a war anymore. Too much media and the public can’t take the images sent back to the states. Until such time as we have to fight on our own shores the pansies here (sorry I mean public) will continue to pressure the morons (sorry I mean politicians) to keep us out of conflicts - see Vietnam & now Afghanistan….
No one who watches any news outlet other than Fox has the stomach for it.

See Vietnam War...
Technically I believe it's the Vietnam Conflict, which is how I refer to it since I'm opposed to propaganda as it is political deviciveness with most often negative results (which is why the misdirection is purposefully propagated in the first place), and in this particular situation was a glaring disaster. What about it?

Looks like the US Navy has joined the Royal Netherlands Navy as part of the HMS Queen Elizabeth aircraft carrier's escort squadron in the Indo-Pacific. The armada will transit the contested waters of the South China Sea en route to Japan. Beijing is not pleased.
