Hey all....

I think I asked this a long time ago.....but not sure I worded it right.

Has anyone taken an OEM Boulevard screen and painted it to match the color of your Fury?

I really want to see how this looks.......

I don't know if I would paint it, but I would try to put a dark tint on it and see if that would work and that way you can always take the tint off later if for some reason you wanted it off, just dont know how well tint would stay on that screen is all but you could ask a professional tinter, just another option.

Oh, O.K, Thank you Mental. Always so obvious after someone tells you.

I say do it. I do a lot of boating (drinking beer on the water) And a few people I know have made there windshields a solid color to match there boat. Most power boats come with a colored wind guard. Much lower then a wind shield.I have never seen one look worse after it was done. They don't use paint. They use something you can see threw, half assed anyway.
I was thinking of the windshield but it looks way to out of place on our bikes. I think this is the answer. Maybe get it the same color as the tank and fenders.
I guess use something like a vinyl wrap. That way you can change colors or if you don't like it and want to keep it clear you can just take it off. Probably try a shop that does good aftermarket paint work for the material.
Thanks for the idea. Gonna get the shield now.

I refused to even entertain thoughts of a windscreen for my Fury until you mentioned this. Yup, something really low and translucent or maybe even that mirror mylar stuff. And it would be easy to change!

After two minutes of deep consideration I pulled the trigger and ordered it. Now I have to decide what color. Lots of shops around here that do tinting. I'm thinking mirror for how it would look when the sun hits it....BAM!!!

I think Wal Mart sells a removeable tint/vinyl in the automotive section, it's the kind that you can put on the back windows in case you have kids back there and want to keep the sun off of them, don't know if it comes in different colors or not, plus if it doesn't work out Wal Mart always takes stuff back :)

to each his own

I knew I didn't want clear. I tried tint but even the strongest (2.5%) looked a bit washed out to me because of light behind it. So I painted the back black and put vinyl chrome on the front. It held on just fine on the freeway today. It's cheap and I have enough left over to do it two or three more times if it gets dinged up.

The screen is easy to remove if I decide I don't like it in the end.

After a couple trips on the freeway up to 80 mph I concluded it serves no purpose as a windscreen. I could not tell any difference so it's been removed and bagged. My last bike had a full fairing and electric windscreen that worked perfectly. The Fury is a totally different animal and I won't be putting any windscreen on it.

Bumpy Bump.......

Maybe one of you Photoshop wizards...(RSS you hear this....) can color the screen on a 3/4 view of the bike? :D
Sorry, on emergency travel right now to Utah, maybe on Thursday or Friday I'll have time... :)
