Compared to the stock exhaust?

Same/somewhat louder/louder/way louder?

I'm wondering if I should partially remove the baffles or just let them in.
The bike must sound as a chopper, but also not to be 'that guy with the Irritating loud bike'

I've already bought them but haven't installed them yet, waiting for the pair valve plates to arrive.

"How loud are cobra swept with baffles?"

'Pends on which cop you're talkin' to! Sorry, couldn't resist. LOL.

With baffles I would say “louder”, without baffles, I would say “way louder”. Even with the baffles removed, I don’t think you’re gonna have any trouble with the police. Wait till a HD goes by and you’ll know what I mean.

Serge,
I have the cobras, Ran them stock with baffles a lot louder than stock ! That said stock is pretty quiet, I removed the baffles and imo sounded like S$it. I did a mod close to Daves i cut the baffle after the 1st blocker plate no hole in plate, and reinstalled they sound real good that way not the BLAAAAAAAA of no baffles but cobras with attitude.........;)

and hope he has a large end on his nightstick.lol
WTF???

I would say they are twice as loud as the stock. That is not saying much.
Here is the good part. Try them in and you can remove and cut them without taking them off if you don't like them stock.
I would say have someone else ride your bike and you ride behind them and then you will truly see how they sound to everyone else.
I also had a guy riding behind me and he was surprised I had baffles in. This baffled me. Ha,Ha.
I would like to cut mine but I am just worried about how they will sound.
We need a video of someone who has done this so we can hear them.
I think I will post the question.

It's cause they are so far back... this is one reason I went with the Sampson's... I have a good Klipsch (if you want to compare the sound of something, make sure you have a good stereo system to hear the difference) system on my computer and could hear the differences between the Cobra's and Sampson's before I bought them. They Sampson's were much deeper and had more of a bark compared to the Cobra's. Also, I bought them because they were higher off of the passenger pegs compared to the Cobra's as I was thinking passenger riding with them as well.

I understand all that.
I am just saying that out of the available exhausts for our bikes there are much louder ones then the cobras due to the design, baffle, size, length, etc of the pipe itself.
I like the Cobra but I hate knowing there is something better (for me) that I could have gotten.
Oh, I hate rice burners. I am a Mustang man myself. I owned a 87 GT, 91 5.0, and 2000 GT.
The 87 had t-tops. 91 was the best one by far. 2000 sucked.
I am diggin the Challenger lately tho. Word is they will be putting the V10 viper engine in for 2012. If that's the case. I'm gettin one!

heres my Honest opinion, by far I think the swept pipes look the best , why because they cover the swing arm very nicely. I have been told by people in cars,,those that ride behind me that my bike sounds awesome. Only problem I have is that every bike I have ever owned had 1 1/2inch drag pipes on them, straight drags,,so the sound was incredible, and that was on a 1300 motor. Now with the swept they kind of point down so I dont hear the noise like before, when I get on it I hear it tear, and it sounds great. I will keep my baffles in because they are required for my inspection and im not gonna keep taking them out and putting them back in. Funny this question came up,,I was out today, rode to a new triumph dealer called Southern Steel Choppers, SSC, they bought the Triumph line, as I pulled back on to highway 17, a blue Fury passed by,,I raced to catch him,,his bike had the swept, now I could hear, but his sounded like crap,,loud backfires,,sounded like a motorboat, I got to a stop lite and asked him if his baffles were out he said no,,but he didnt get a fuel controller, I was happy my bike sounded way better. So maybe he did another mod that required some adjustments he didnt do. I like mine the way they are with my baffles in. preferred preference.

I have always hated the mustang actually (cept the older models), until the recent reincarnation of the brand. Until the new one came out, I viewed them as looking like a "turtle"... and if you look back through photo's with an open eye, you will know what I am talking about. I am glad that you see that some models of the Mustangs were not up to quality as far as look's are concerned and I am glad that they have changed their views (might buy one within the next few years)... and see that you have a good vehicle in mind bro with the Challenger... :D

Agreed,
My Mustang favs were years 88 to 93. Great sounding exhausts! You could put soup cans on them for mufflers and they would sound good. Then IMO they turned to crap untill this latest model came out.
The newer ones are nice but that Challenger is callin me. Get it to match the bike!:D
Do you Remember the Pacer? Waynes world! I don't know who made it but it too looks like a turtle. A fat one. lol.
Sorry, not trying to jack the thread. Just a little car talk.

Yea... but that was understandable because of the movie... totally fit right in!!! Now, in RL, would laugh at it, but the movie rocked for sure... almost thought that was a Gremlin at first... ha... now you have me thinking of the movie... :p

I agree; it's all about the displacement.

There was a video next to Big Johns of another guy with stock cobras. You will here a major difference. Be sure and listen to it so you hear the difference!

And no. It's not ALL about the displacement. Sorry Skap.:D Not trying to argue with you but if that was the case then I wouldn't be able to make mine twice as loud.
I do know what your saying tho!
But I was mostly referring to our bikes and not cars or other bikes when I posted about the sound of the Cobras. At least that is what I was thinking in my head at the time.
