prolly not a concern, but it would almost definatly void the warrenty it u did bypass the governor.. u may chuckle, but trust me it can come in handy.. a buddy once said "how u supposed to show off your bike if your going too fast for people to see it?" point well taken, the fury damn sure ain't a high performance machine like ur CBR is.. why treat it as such? the engine ain't designed to run at redline forever.. but if u got the cash and don't care, go for it!! burn that bitch up!! lol

If I was going to buy a bike for speed, I certainly wouldn't have bought the Fury. However, for what it is, it's fast enough for me. It has a little pep for a 1300 V-twin.

Also, I'm not an expert, but I believe you're talking about two different things. The governor shutting you down at 99 and the rev limiter keeping you from going over 45 in 1st.

clueless would probably have an idea of this, wonder if its a mechanical gov or programmed into the PCM, that would dictate if you could get around it easily. Hopefully someone will have a full PCM reflash kit if its in the pcm, i reflash with all of my vehicles, not because i ride above 98 in my truck all the time but because occasionally you gotta go above that or swap gears or other things that a reflash can correct/accomidate. our turnpike at times 80 is the normal speed which leaves me with only 19mph extra. even at 70 your pulling decent RPM's so im thinking top stock unrestricted speed on the bike is around 110-120ish, the bike def could use a 6th gear though for sustained highway speeds

the rev limeter is the to keep you from over reving the engine and blowing it all to crap.if you change it your warrentee is void.best thing to do is kick back and look good.no need for speed at my age any how.ride safe.

That's pretty much what I'm thinking. IMO 100mph, (or right under), on a public road or highway, is plenty fast enough for any type of vehicle. Like I said, if I wanted something for speed, I wouldn't have bought the Fury. I've owned it since September I think, and I may have got it up to 90 once. It sure felt fast when I thought about a deer running out into the road. Which by the way has happened to me on a bike before at 60MPH on a gravel road, no less. The young deer came out into the road at just the right time and was actually running beside me trying to get in front of me as I was trying to slow down and stop. He then tried to jump over the back of my bike and made contact which sent me fish tailing for a little ways, but I actually stayed upright! Good ol' Honda 350 4 cyl. The deer hit the ditch and got tangled up in a barbed wire fence. My neighbor said he was tasty! :D

Sell the Fury and get the Big Dog Chopper you seem to need.

It is in the programming, I know of 1 local that cut the speed sensor to the ECU and that didn't do it. If you are looking for alot of spped and power your looking at the wrong bike.
