Got something I've been thinking about for a little while, and thought I'd throw it out there and see if there is anyone else who has thought about this. When I was first shopping around for my Fury, I initially wanted the LE model. I really liked the way it looked, and the red trim around the rims really make it pop! However, there were none in my area for sale, so I had to settle for what was available, the metallic silver. Now that I've had it for a while and after seeing pictures of others, i'm kinda glad I didn't get the LE. When it comes to customizing, it would be too dificult for me to decide if certain parts should be black or chrome or whatever. Then if I make one part black or another part chrome, does it make something else stand out? does it change the theme? does it look right? etc... I wouldn't know what to do with it. With the other colors, it's easy to tell what should be chrome and what shouldn't. Just my opinion. I'm not trying to bash anyone's bike at all, I still like the LE model, I think it's a really sharp looking bike. This is just something I've been thinking about, and haven't seen anyone comment about it, so I thought I'd throw it out there. Am i alone on this?

It is a problem I have. For instance...I want pipes but in black (maybe) and like the Cobra Swept. Cobra does not make them. I want a new air cleaner...if I get black pipes, should I get a black air cleaner and should it be glossy or matte? Should I paint the headlight bucket and what color and finish? Sounds stupid, but it really is a challenge to customize this bike. So far I've used black with touches of red, so I don't want to add more colors....decisions...decisions...sigh.

I don't see it as a problem. I like certain parts to pop, and I like certain parts to blend in... I don't want to black everything out because the aftermarket parts will visually get lost in pictures.

So far, I'm liking what is chrome and what is black

it dosent matter what others think.its what you think that counts.if you want cobras in black, consider the new black chrome.its nice.
Oh, I assure you it does not matter to me what others think. I've always ridden Honda Bikes and didn't care what others thought. :p :D I do, however, like visually appealing parts and colors that blend well.

I don't see the Matte Silver being a problem. I love mine and am enjoying the challenge of making some things pop and some things subdued. It is too easy to throw a bunch of chrome on a bike, the challenge is mixing it up in proper proportions that look good.

I don't like the whole Matte silver thing, or Matte anything for that matter. Maybe there is a reason there is a limited edition thing going on. I don't like the matte finish on the helmets either.
To me , a chopper should be about chrome, chrome and more chrome.
When I see a Matte finish, I think of one of those weekend Mechanic, rattle can primer jobs on cars you see mostly in the southern region of the United States...
That's just my opinion, and I know I will feel the heat from the few Matte owners. I think It's just a fad!

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but in all reality it is obviously not a fad. All you have to do is try to get one. No dealers around me have them or can get them.

I'm thinking that LE stands for limited education.
That's why they don't make too many.
I wouldn't try to get one, cause I don't like em.
Chopped, your bike is yours. Enjoy your challenge!

lol, well, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I for one do NOT like flashy items... I tend to black things out. Chrome pieces here and there are fine, but you can definetly have TOO much of a good thing (chrome).

I also enjoy primered cars, if it's done right, like an old Hot Rod

What is your purpose in slamming the matte silver owners. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Color is a personal choice and your opinion does not matter to me or should it matter to them.

The matte silver bike is NOT a Limited Edition. All media clearly state that it is a "SPECIAL EDITION." That being said, I like the color, but I hate polishing chrome. If I could, the entire engine and exhaust would be redone in various shades of flat black or matte dark silver.

Actually, it is paint...it is a tractor paint I shot in my driveway. It is called suede. :D

UNIQUENESS .....

Obviously, everyone is unique and thrives on their own passions. Others can look in from the outside and question decisions. It is very easy to criticize. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

The Matte edition is more of a creative color choice. In my opinion, this is why it was labeled the SE. I don't think the Fury in black (like I have) could have gotten away with the SE tag because black is pretty representational of the motorcycle genre`. The riders who bought the Matte finish knew it would be more of a challenge and wanted to have significant input in their modifications.

I personally love chrome. Black n chrome ....... Fuhgettaboutit! I had the opportunity to purchase the Matte finish at a location 10 miles from my house. I did not want my Fury with black rims and I could not understand the red pinstripe as it seemed to throw everything off. Instead I traveled 3 hours south to pick up the gloss black. This again was a personal choice just like we all have. To me, the silver Fury is the most difficult color to work with because the chrome n silver kinda blend. From a distance, it all looks the same with not to much playoff going on and no pop.

But it's really kool to see what every Fury owner is doing, especially the Matte owners because it's more of a task. This post is pretty unnecassary because basic common sense tells you that we are all different and have different tastes and styles.

When I bought mine I had narrowed it down to either the SE or the Blue, but after looking at the blue I decided it was just too much blue for me. So i bought the matte silver SE. Since I had a fall over and the insurance paid for a new tank I figure I'll try to fix the dent or pay to have it fixed, then I can experiment. the fenders are cheap enough that I could get another set and have them paint something different and then swap the tank. With the black frame it will be easier to do this. When I get a chance to pull it off i'll post pics.
