The service guy at my dealership said he could get me an after-market exhaust system but he could not install it. In California we fear the EPA like we should fear the Lord. For those of you who must endure "inspections", how does it work? Do you just switch back and forth?

We don't have emissions inspections in Cali Bob... That bill most likely won't get passed cause they are tired of taxing the people for no good reason (least that's what they said in the press release last June or July). Just hold onto them, but most likely we won't ever need them. They had put the bill on hold till 2010, but haven't checked up on it this year, as it didn't get passed last year and I figured that it would never get passed, specially after that b*&^^ left office that was proposing the bill in the first place.

I would suggest you hang on to your stock pipes just in case..
Talked to a guy that had just purchased the 2010 Shadow Phantom and had Cobra make some new pipes for the bike.
The dealer would not let him drive it off the lot with the Cobra pipes on the bike. They had to put his stock pipes on in order to leave the dealer..
He asked that they not torque the pipes down as he was going 5 blocks away and change em back..
He said they torqued them down anyway..
The mutt's, can't get good help these days..
ride safe..
