Finally located the signal relay after removing the rear fender. After that....no problems. The new feature of the signalminder (rear signals as added brake lights) is slick. Putting LEDs and clear lenses on sure made a difference in the turn signals. Other mods done and more to come, but, I think this addition really adds to the bike at a fairly low price. And for those wondering....I used the SM-3.

I thought a must for this bike and any bike is to convert the turn signals to running lights.. frankly I'm not sure why it's not mandated on motorcycle production. In any case, I used a similar product, it was less expensive purchased at EC - Good stuff for your Moto-scooter. I'm a paranoid freak and didn't want to do anything that could potentially void the warranty on the bike. This kit was super easy to install and didn't compromise the electrical system in any way. My 2 cents.

Since you have been there, do we have a 3 pin or a 9 pin model?
How difficult was the spring in the handlebar housing?

I am going to order the product you listed. I have clear lenses with amber bulbs on my bike. Would the EC product still look right or would i have to go back to the amber lens?

I think it looks better with the amber bulb and the clear lens. A friend of mine has that setup and it looks better than mine. I can take pictures of my bikes back end along side of his so you can see the difference if you'd like.

3 pin. You have to install the brown ground wire that comes with the kit. I have put 3 signal minders in on three different bikes ( VTX1800-VTX1300-Fury) and I have never installed the return springs. Others have said that it was not that easy but take your time and you can do it. I buttoned it up before I thought to take any pics.:( Have to remove the rear fender to get to the flasher.

How does the 'rear turnsignals as brake light' work/install ?
Do you plug in the SignalMinder module and your done, or do you have to splice the brake light wire so that the SignalMinder knows that the brake light is on ?

Thanks, i was leaning toward the clear lens setup. If it not to much of a problem to take the pic id appreciate it. I ordered my conversion kit today.

i got the clear lens covers from my local bike mechanic.

Built-in options such as Running Light Conversion, allows you to convert all the turn signals to running lights. And that gives you 4-Way emergency or Escort mode flash. And if you hook-up the brake input, you can get the brake flash feature with built-in override when stopped in traffic.
■ Automatic turn signal cancellation
■ Running light option built-in
■ Brake flash and override option built-in

This new version has all of the
RUN/TURN/BRAKE features - BUILT-IN!

The module is plugged where the flasher is......remove flasher.
Run the supplied out wires to the rear turn signals and brake.
Scotch-lock (supplied) the module wires to blue and orange turn sig. wires.
Scotch-lock the module wire to the brake light.
When brakes are applied, they (signals) will flash rapidly then steady on.

View attachment 282 Picture shows the red scotch-locks on the blue and orange signal wires. The red scotch-lock for the brake can be seen in the upper right-hand corner of the brake lense. Also shows the signals as running lights.

View attachment 283 Picture shows the brown wire put to ground.

Writing it sounds complicated but in reality only took me about 30 min. or less...and that's because I am picky about wires being straight and neat. :D

Know this is a very old post but you by chance don't have any pictures of this install. Plan on ordering mine tonight. The pictures listed in your last post dont show up. Also, how is it holding up and do you still recommend. Im looking for the running light option as well as the turn signal auto cancelling.

Thanks in advance
