I just installed the kuryakyn Motor Chrome Kit and it really looks great. One note, I noticed in previous threads that some of you had fit issues. I think the problems were caused by the thickness of the two sided tape kuryakyn supplied with the kits. The chrome cover for the right side fits perfectly until you put the tape on it then, not so much. I used a thin 3M tape, about 1/2 as thick, and the fit was much tighter. Take a look and let me know what you think.

P.S. Got to take it out tonight and it felt good! Sorry to rub it in for all you northerners, it warmed up nice down here today!

Just turned 500 miles. As soon as my L&M intake adapter gets here and I install the new breather, I will bring it in for its valve adjustment and put it on the dyno. Can't wait to see how she runs when its tuned right.

Lookin' *very* good; and great pics, thx. Really gave me a great look at the kit after install. I have the kit backordered from custom dynamics, so will be installing sometime in the near future. Question: any idea if the 3m tape has equal or better or worse adhesion than the kury tape? My understanding is the kury tape sticks like all hell; will the 3m do as well? what's the brand *type* of tape or whatever, I mean what does 3m call it, if we want to get some?

Kury uses 3M brand tape, alot of it is the VHB type, I didn't like the tape on the right side made the cover stick up too high, so I used some RTV, let me get in and situated before it set up, the tape will not allow any moving.

FWIW: RTV is a silicone-based adhesive. It's a viscous liquid, and is, therefore, highly conformal. Make sure you clean both surfaces thoroughly. As Clueless pointed out, it will buy you positioning/locating time for the perfect fit.

Cheers

Glad you figured that issue with the tape out, I just warmed up my engine and squished down the tape... Nice pics btw. But everybody has a different solution for everything right? :D Anyways, my biggest deal was that stupic allen head screw on the right side that was made of some shitty material... stripped it out and everything... bah....

The 3M tape I used is the same stuff used to attach rear spoilers. If it is strong enough to hold a spoiler on the trunk of a car it will hold the chrome kit in place. You can buy it at any auto parts store.

Aye... but the trunk doesn't get too xxx degree's either, so make sure you check the temp rating...

Anyone know or have any idea if fuggin's viper-2's will still go on over the kury engine chrome kit? Can't tell from any pic's I've seen if there's room on the inside of the back pipe or if it's flush already with stock motor. Or maybe anyone with viper-2's mounted can tell me if there's room in back (on the inside) of that back pipe?
