Kuryakyn Pro-R Hyper Charger for the Honda Fury

I just purchased the Low and Mean intake adapter for the Honda Fury, P/N LM-02F-1005 and I would like to mount the Kuryakyn Pro-R Hyper Charger on it. Which unit should I order?

I saw one of these mounted on a bike that rode to the Chopper Fest. Looking closely, it sucked in all kinds of mud onto the air filter. I like the looks of it, but after seeing on that bike I have my reservations with it being wide open to road debris.

I think SaltyDog has one installed on his Fury.

MyFury;

I want to do exactly the same thing, and have exactly the same question. Please let me know when you get it resolved. L&M hasn't been very helpful.

Cheers

Actually, Tony, I don't think debris impingement is an issue. While admittedly anecdotal, I've run K&N's (the same filter contained in the HyperCharger) on off-road and other equipments for decades (since they first came out), in both covered and exposed mode, and have had virtually everything impinged on them, from dust to water to mud, from ice to mouse turds to aliens; nothing gets through but air, and lots of that. They are, of course, coated with oil and, properly maintained, are virtually impervious to any nastiness that you can throw at them. They are, arguably, the best air filters that money can buy. Certainly, nothing you could encounter running down the hiway should be of concern.

Just my humble two-bits worth.........

Cheers

Answers to the HyperCharger question

This is the response from Low And Mean on the hypercharger mounting question.

Any HD Hypercharger will work, if you get the Kuryakyn brand they have a vacuum line on the back side that needs to be plugged and our Spike adapter will need a slight cut for clearance, right around the triangle window. It's a small cut and very simple. The function of the Kuryakyn Hypercharger does not work because there's no vacuum line on the Fury intake and to be honest we have test this Hypercharge with no issues. The Kuryakyn Hypercharger it is just for looks. We also offer Hypercharger style if your interested for a fraction of the cost. Here's a screen shot of the ones we can get for you. Let us know if you need any other help.
Yea... Tony and I saw some of these Hyperchargers at the Ventura Chopper Fest going for 80-90 dollars... I was wondering the same thing about how well they would work... guess I should have just picked up one...

Ya, there's about a million of them on Ebay, for all kinds of different model Harley's, including some for carbs and some for fuel-injected. Nobody seems to know what the difference is. It would be most helpful if L&M could post just which model numbers, of the three basic HyperCharger models, would work with their adapter. I can make the vacuum thingy work, no sweat, I just don't want to have to totally re-machine the HyperCharger to get it to fit.

I think so long as it is a standard 3 hole style that HD has, think it will work... that's my best guess at least... kind of why I didn't buy one, didn't quite know either... If Saltydog can post the requirements or some kind of info on his intake, that would be appreciated.

Sorry to see we have not been helpful, but we didn't see that you had asked us this question, maybe you did, but we didn't see the email. Anyway, we are always here 928-255-0230 or [email protected] if you have any questions. As for which model of Hypercharger, there are so many models it's not feasible to list everyone, but it's a safe rule of thumb that if you find one with the HD 3 bolt pattern it will work with our Low and Mean Honda Fury air cleaner adapter. So any HD model will work, and some of the metric ones will work as well, but again as long as it has the three bolt pattern you are good. The way they make them fit to many models is an adapter behind the Hypercharger.

Hope that helps and feel free to contact us anytime if you have any further questions.

Any Hypercharger made of a Harley with a CV carb (non-FI) will work. They started making the CV carb in 1989 and came out with FI (some models) in 1995. So basically any Harley made between 1989-1994 will work.

VTX1300's Hypercharger kits will also work as it comes with a supplied VTX to HD-CV adapter.
Intake Options.

I have found a cheaper option to the Hypercharger that does not use the butterfly and has a screened intake port. look at: Harley Air Cleaner Kit | Harley Air Filter Kit | Harley Air Filter Big Sucker | Harley High Flow Air Cleaner | Harley High Flow Air Filter | Harley Velocity Stack Kit | Harley Forcewinder - www.debrix.com

I just ordered one from here and I will update everyone when I try to install it.
Just get the S & S - its badass and worth every penny

Ya, good; then you can look like every second or third Harley on the road! Nope, need sumpin' different.

Click on their signature link... then hit the honda button at the top of the page when done...
how far do the Hyperchargers typically sit out compared to the stock intake with the Bubble. I kinda wanna get something that sits a little further in on the bike than the bubble pushes my knee, and it looks like it has decent clearance for a lower profile aircleaner
