Thursday nights we ride up to a nearby golf course which hosts a BBQ with live music n stuff like that. All cars park in a designated lot but bikes pull up in the circle and are allowed to park around that circle. It's great pulling around the entrance as everyone's checkin' out your ride.
At one point .......... we all looked up and saw 3 BigDogs coming in and pulling around into the circle. It was like hundreds of people stopped what they were doing and dropped their jaws. I mean I have to tell you guys that I even was like ......... OH SHHHIT! The presence was overwhelming and the 300 rear wheels and monster chrome were seriously sickening to look at. One dude with the Wolf happened to put it next to mine and it made my Fury look like a toy. Don't get me wrong, I am a diehard Honda Fury enthusiast and really enjoy my ride, however, I must say I was freakin' blown away by the power of the pressence.
After this one particular dude was surrounded like a celebrity and answered all the dumb ass questions by onlookers, I had the opportunity to chill with him when he walked back over to check his neon lights. He knew I was an owner of one of the bikes so we had a good conversation. He finally asked which one was mine and I said - right next to yours, the Fury. He was kool and checked it out and was impressed. I found that he was not "stuck-up" or anything like that as he also mentioned that this seemed to be a great looking ride, especially for the $$$. His BigDog was over $50K with the mods/airbrushing, etc. To see this bike in person was amazing, speaking from my own biker respect and appreciation.
So he says ......... go ahead bro, sit on her and see how she feels. I did and it was a huge difference, obviously. Again, I was impressed but perfectly fine with my ride to my right. Performance wise he mentioned some of the general pros n cons that were always mentioned in previous threads. I think I was even bashing the BD's at some point.
I think this ride is all about the pressence, all about pulling up and the jaws dropping. This is what a chopper is supposed to do. We all know that when we pull up places we get the stares too, however, I had to shake my head because there is no comparison to "pressence" between the two. This is just my opinion and I love our rides and the reliability factor - it was just kool to see this in person hooked up as it was and to actually get a kool owner who was able to actually have a conversation.
